I’m seeing this same problem – but not related to pinterest plugin / WP.
I have SimpleTest part of a custom built project, but I’m not actively calling anything SimpleTest related — and yet server is yelling about maxing out CPU due to detached_test.php.
Started a thread at StackOverflow to try and get more insight…
