In reply to: [Simone] Wordfence flags template-config.phpi am another user of the Simone theme. I’m running into an issue of the menu button below 600px not unfolding the drop down menu — so folks going to the site on phones have no access to the menu. I think I see this happening on your site as well. I am trying to contact support here (now waiting two days), but I thought you’d like to know this. Are you still getting a malware flag in Wordfence?
best,

In reply to: [Simone] menu toggle button no longer works in child themeI just read a support request from 2 years ago in which the menu button not “unfolding” was reported:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/also-thanks-for-updating/
The reply to that support request was that the problem had been resolved in version 2.1.3. The version of Simone that I’m using is 2.1.4. So maybe this is the same issue and it didn’t get fully resolved yet?
thanks for your help !

In reply to: The REST API did not process the context query parameter correctly.@emahajan Thank you for your suggestions!
I am not very familiar with deep under-the-hood territory (I’m just a website designer, no developer).
I understand just enough to be able to perform steps 1 and 2 that you recommend.
However, I don’t know enough to answer your question:
“Have you raised this issue with the 3rd party API provider?”
Which 3rd party API are you referring to and what 3rd party API can be relevant after all plugins and themes are deactivated?
(please forgive my ignorance)thank you again!

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Wordfence errorI’m using version 3.0. Is there a later version than that?
If that’s the latest version, please let me know if the modification Wordfence is flagging was done by the plugin author.
thanks!

@paul-hartman Thanks for sharing that, Paul! So I re-activated AI1EC on that site to test it – and it really does seems to be working again. ManageWP hasn’t disconnected for over an hour, and the site is also no longer ridiculously sluggish. So maybe it’s fixed!

Beginning about 3 days ago, I have also noticed a dramatic slowing down of my site (https://mitzicowell.com), which was fixed when I deactivated AI1EC.
In addition, I use ManageWP to connect to all my websites and it was no longer able to connect to this site suddenly about 3 days ago. This issue was also resolved when I deactivated AI1EC.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Wordfence warningHi Tim,
Thanks so much for your very articulate explanation.
I’d love to address this issue using the Repair method, but I ran into an issue when I tried to do a Wordfence Repair on the file for two of my websites: when I click to download a backup within the Repair dialog, I get a “This site can’t be reached” message.
The error message for one of those sites looks like this:
The webpage at https://docscapes.org/feb2015/?_wfsf=download&nonce=8b953343fb&file=wp-content%2Fplugins%2Fwordpress-seo%2Fwp-seo-main.php might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Both sites seem to be working fine.
And it seems I can’t click to proceed with the Repair unless I’ve clicked to download a backup first.
I will appreciate if you could point me in the right direction if I’m doing something wrong.
Thanks again!

In reply to: Database failed repairFinal report:
Seems there was some kind of issue with the previous host that was preventing me from restoring from UpDraftPlus backups. That host offers a Restore service, but charges $25 and I finally gave up waiting for it after 55 stressful hours. I was able to do a full restore on the new host using my UpDraftPlus backup files. But in the future at the new host, I now have the capability do a select restore (choose files or database) in a couple clicks, no extra fee, no wait. I think the Universe was pointing me in this direction. ??
