The member in question has woocommerce on her website, and possibly other plugins. Could that be the problem? Or do you have any other possible troublesome extensions?

Thanks for the answer, but sorry I still don’t understand.

Are you saying that for the basic login-logout I can use my usual WordPress/Genesis log-in and can add Idle User Logout?
And can I use the WordPress/Genesis member directory for listing members. What extra things does Groups do for me?

I am still curium if this is a widget for me. Is it possible to only have inviten members and no open registration?

Is there a basic instruction for how to get started with this plug-in. It seems like it is the one I need but I cannot figure out how to use it.
I want to have a membership-only part of our website. Members should be able to log in and view more than one page/log-in. I would prefer to have one login for all.
