Still getting so many spam user registrations…

I’m having the same problem after installing. I’ve done everything above like Kathyblair. Is anyone monitoring this support forum? My spam registrations have slowed down but I am still getting a dozen a day at least.

Even after installing SI Captcha I am still getting spam email user registrations. It seems the process it takes people through (or machines) is to send a confirmation email and if they click on that they are confirmed.

I thought it would be installing a captcha window. Any clarity on this?

My question now is what to do with these several thousand of potentially spam registrations.

– What is the potential harm to my site or to my email address?

I think I got something in this afternoon that shut down my email client, which was a bit scary.

Do I delete all these registered users? I’m not sure what is real or not!

Thank you Accuwebhosting, I have installed si captcha and the registrations have all but stopped. I did have one or two come in since then, but that was after posting a new post and seems to be legit!

Thank you Mark. I want my legitimate registrations to keep coming in. It’s what I’m looking at building. And I wouldn’t disable registrations for commenting either, there are too many nutcases out there I don’t want to open the door to.

I have this issue that the images are in my posts and they are not in the media library.

When I click on the image to get the name so I can do a search to find it (I want to set all my featured images) there is no name to the image (weird). All that data is gone.

I did not change hosting accounts.

Lots of images are missing.

Some not on the server either, but there in the blog? How can that be?

I recently exported many posts to import into another WordPress blog. Would that have deleted images out of the media library?

Wow, I did it!

The only thing is the main image for the post is not linking to the post summary.

Any suggestions to fix that?
