Sorry, I was a bit quick with this question.

I found calls to next_post_type_link(…) which obviously depends on the plug in. I also had it in a widget. When it is in the widget the page loads up to that point.

Thank you, you are right. I had done some styling lately and mistakenly thought I had left something behind. I use a phone and the top bar comes out much thicker than the side bars. The theme looks intrusive here, imho. But the bar should be there.

I just uninstalled. What I noticed with this plug-in is that it lately has started logging my own hits.

I am no expert on WP. I tried Jetpack long ago. I don’t remember why but for some reason I removed it. I may try it again.

Aha. I knew I could rename the plug in to disable it.

But if I then immediately rename it again, back to the original name it will be disabled in the admin plug in panel! Then I can uninstall it through the panel interface.

My complete restore is still running but the site seems to work now.

Well, what to do? Uninstall WP Statistics? I don’t think another update is recommendable.

After the update the site was not accessible in safe mode or any other way. I restored all files and database so it works now.

Maybe that was overkill. If this happens again it might be good to know how people solved it. If you rename this plugin directory, will the site work? How do you then get BB-function back? If you have an old backup of the plugin directory, can you just use that one?

I will not update again until we hear from the developer. Will it cause me problems staying with the old BB-version if WP updates? My site is full of BB code. Which is the best way to deal with this?

My site completely broke after updating BBCode Deluxe. Not accessible in any way. I am currently running complete restore of files and db.

Automatic email verified BBCode was causing the breakdown.

Thanks for leading my thoughts the right way. I always used the mobile browser but I forgot the obvious:

If I use list mode for media items (not thumbnails) and press “view desktop site it is possible to edit media categories for multiple items.

I am definitely no expert, but I only knew media categories could be added to media items. Categories for pages and posts are a different WP feature.

I apologize for the horrible formatting of my post. I don’t know what happened. It was possible to edit once, to no avail.
