It turned out this was caused by a Coming Soon plugin that I was using. When I disabled the Coming Soon page, I could connect. So this issue is now solved.

Thanks for getting back to me. I don’t remember the details anymore. In the end I deleted the whole wp instance and made a new one from a new database.

I missed your latest reply, now I have deleted the plugin (but those tables are not deleted). If I install it again I will try what you suggest.

When I check in Phpmyadmin I notice that all tables start with the prefix “wp_” as they should, but that the tables “newsletter”, “newsletter_emails”, “newsletter_sent”, and “newsletter_stat” do NOT start with the “wp_”. Which I guess is the error – they seem to have been created without it. However, this is above my tech level, so I am now trying out another newsletter plugin.

Not as I can remember, although I do use Jetpack including their newsletter function.

Yes, no issues there, just tried to create a new blog post. Strange, maybe I should just do a blank reinstall of the plugin and try again?

The log says:

05-06-2024 09:52:34 - ERROR - 8.3.6 - 24.7 MB/512 MB - shota > Table 'my_database_name.wp_newsletter_emails' doesn't exist

Not sure if it’s relevant, but when debugging, there is a lot of this error in the logs:

Table 'my_database_name.wp_newsletter' doesn't exist

Oops, was simple. Clear cache in the cache plugin!

Ok thanks. I actually just found it now, it’s editable from the page break field itself.

As a temporary solution, I added this extra CSS (the first hides both fields, the second shows the correct field again):

.es_required_field {
	display: none;
}

.es_txt_email {
	display: block;
}

I have the same problem (extra field appears under email field). It appeared suddenly, I had not touched the site in the past few months but maybe some automatic update happened.

I might have got it every second time I logged in or so. I clicked the “x” to close it.
