We’ve carefully studied the effects of clickable ads at the end of FunCaptcha and are pleased to report it has no impact on user conversion rates. See https://www.funcaptcha.com/metrics/ for more about that.

Also, using FunCaptcha instead of the usual old typed-in CAPTCHA increases a typical web form’s output by 20.4%, so you’re already well ahead of the game.

Thanks for your feedback. We’ve considered making it a 50/50 chance whether you are asked to identify the sole woman or the sole man. We are not sure if that will confuse people who have played it before one way, then see it the other. But in any case does that address your concern?

I appreciate that gender is a sensitive issue but this is an excellent example of how humans and computers process images differently– making this ideal for stopping spammers. With all the ways that society distinguishes by gender, we did not think it would cause much offense.

You might be able to look at the source of FunCaptcha and see how we’ve done it for Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, there is currently no PHP call that can be use in the plugin itself. I’d instead recommend you just roll your own solution with our PHP library from here: https://github.com/FunCaptcha/funcaptcha-php-library/archive/master.zip

It’s really easy. You can use the same private/public keys, you will just need to create the FunCaptcha where you’d like and then check the answer. Please contact us at [email protected] if you need help beyond the docs.

Yes, the issue is probably that your plugin is looking for the version based one, when in reality the file exists, just the version isn’t added (which is done during use by WordPress to prevent browser caching old versions). Appears to be a bug in how they detect if a file exists. In any case, the file is there and will work when it’s needed.

From memory we found the file did exist on your server (therefore the 404 plugin seemed incorrect), and it was decided there was no further actionable steps.
