I managed to sort it out thru a bit of trial and error!

I also have no slug in my home page – but I tried it with a home slug but still the same thing

I am trying to add a page called Gallery – when I add the page it adds the menu button in the menu at the top and also infuriatingly changes my ‘home’ page to Gallery as well and gets rid of all the content of my homepage (after I also create a tag/button in the Menu called Gallery). I make sure that via the ‘quick edit’ on the pages that the slugs are correct. I did notice a blog about this but it referred to V 2.0 and said it was some ind of bug but that was 3 years ago … Thought I was going nuts earlier as a few weeks ago it was just easy and did not effect my home page at all, to put in the other pages. I have changed it back to how it was before (with no ‘Gallery’ button. Would really appreciate any help here ??

Hi WPRanger – thanks for responding. Sorry I am not familiar enough with using WordPress for that long – is it construed safe for me to divulge my URL on any forum? Again sorry if I am seeming very timid here. I put up new pages up to about 3 weeks ago no problem, then submitted my site to Google webmaster tools and then since doing that I am getting this really frustrating issue with the my Home page being changed (to the new page I want to add) I spent 2 – 3 hours trying to sort it out today but to no avail ??
If I can be assured that putting my URL here is safe then I can I could do that but I would be reluctant really (or am I being way over cautious)?
