  • Not sure if it was just a bad moment, but your page took over 15 seconds to load. ??
Looks rather professional to me, except for a few little details.

Can you increase the time on each slide? it skims past them rather quickly.

He means that it’s the name of the person at the end of the theme thread..so if someone clicks on it, it would go into that theme page as a referral (for money). However, it’s a broken link anyways!

hi! Very sorry for the delayed answer. Haven’t had an opportunity to work on this in the past week.
My issue is that the last time I attempted to use a back up you indicatedlf, it deleted all of my images and my posts all had to have their images re-added and EVERY post had to be edited to fix the issue.

Someone informed me that this is entirely normal and I replied with “WTH is the point of having a backup if it doesn’t actually backup!?” ??
Anyways, so maybe as an alternative, because I’m paranoid.

My issue comes about is that due to switching themes, I need the default settings on my current site to go away and be replaced by the new themes default. All I want from my current site are the posts/images/comments and their relation to each other.

Hey guys, thank you for replying. I apologize for not replying faster!
I’m curious if it’s my PC now as you guys say it loads fast. I just feel like something is wonky with the speed as I have fios and rather fast internet. It just feels clunky while loading.

I do feel the “clunky” more in my dashboard as well, so I’ll check with my host.
I also have been having theme drama where I really hate the theme and that may be contributing to the issue.

I think I had the W3 Total Cache on my page once upon a time and I don’t remember why I stopped using it! I’ll check it out again.

Thank you for your suggestions and for checking for me!

    Hi!
Go to your Dashboard – Appearance – Menu.

From here you have to add/edit/delete what pages and categories you want asigned to your menus. If you are trying to have seperate pages for things, you will need to create a brand new page for each one and individually assign them.

Here is an image of my menu setup, for example: Example Menu Setup

If you look at it, you’ll notice i have a page setup as the one part of my menu. However, I could make five more pages and then stick them as a menu.

Also..somehow for this name here Synfidie – I’ve lost all of my hyperlinks on any comments for this name. This is driving me nuts.

    Hi!
First thing I noticed is.. the really large picture you have there on your opening page – It took like 5 seconds for that picture to load and I’m on Fios. I’m not sure what would cause that as the picture itself isn’t that huge of a file size.

I think the site overall looks great, but your drop down menus are..odd. Like..they drop down right away, but it’s in a white box and it goes over top of your website text below it. It just looks..cheap. If you were able to get rid of the white box behind the font, that would probably resolve that issue. I think the same issue might be occurring elsewhere on your site as well. On your blog page the article “Update you Executive Portrait with a updated look.” has a picture in it that goes underneath your archive widget.

i do like your mix of pictures/blog combination as I think it looks readable.

Can you get your website data off and do a wipe and fresh install of wordpress?

Depends..what host do yo you use? I know on hostgator there is a way to go through your dashboard on there and you can “delete” your site and do a fresh install of wordpress.

I think it sometimes takes awhile for it to start working…I faintly recall something about 24 hours. I tried to google it but didn’t have much luck.

Edit: found something: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/adsense/ipOUjVg1cXE <–takes awhile for the ad to show up.

Oh, also try adding some categories for your posts such as

    Retail
    Sales
    Restaurant
    Hotels
    Etc..you get the idea. ??

First, you already got some spam in there. ?? Install Akismet, that’ll help block it. (it’s free, or you can donate a tiny bit)

Your design is kinda boring. I usually am a fan of dark colored websites, but I think your background image is making it…faded looking when combined with the very black color you have on it.

Maybe try sprucing it up with a customized logo? There is a free site you can go to for one: https://cooltext.com/ I’ve used it..can make big or small ones on it. It really is free.
You can probably spruce it up with some comedic pictures as well. Throw in a disclaimer somewhere on your site as well (so you don’t get sued by some company that someone will complain about or whatnot).

I think this website idea is great and hopefully you can fix your design issues so it looks good and will attract people.

Are you sticking it in a post or into a widget area? I find the banners are rather fugly usually and don’t produce much of a clickthrough. You could try doing a widget and sticking a small square ad or a banner ad into it. (the person above me actually has a good idea)
Google likes you to have their ads on the top section of your page (i forget the link but it shows you how each..area of your website measures up with visibility with ads and such).

I saw your post in the other forum and I’ll probably go over there. I think your website is a great idea, but I’ll get yelled at if I respond to it up here in this post so see you down there.

I freaking hate websites with sound like this one has. I almost immediately leave said websites within a few seconds thinking my computer is downloading a virus or something..not to mention I just hate having something yell at me over top of whatever else I’m doing.
