In reply to: Do you have to host it?Most ads are put on your site through embed code (which it sounds like you are familiar with, with your experience with WP.com), it works exactly the same with WP.org hosted sites.
WP.org sites do have to be hosted somewhere so you’d have to pay a hosting provider that matches the specifications that WordPress requires to run the most recent version of it. There are tons of hosting solutions out there that can host WP.org sites. Just google it and find the highest rated company the fits your budget.
Once the site is up and running you embed your ads all over your site. Go crazy! ??

In reply to: My menu only allow 10 pages with content!hey there, it should only go to the page that holds the image and it’s data, not the image itself. So you wouldn’t use the url above (as it goes straight to the image itself. Note .jpg at the end of the address). You’d instead make it go to the page that gets created when you uploaded the picture. So, the address would look something like this: https://www.lojadotenista.com/raquetes-de-tenis/raquetes-boris-becker/boris-becker-delta-core-sportster/
Hope that helps!

In reply to: Making the homepage look less like a blog entryHey there! Wow this thread got big sorry I didn’t get back in touch sooner but I’m glad other jumped in as well.
In regards to the css solution, you can put it in anywhere in the sheet. Just make sure it not in between the brackets of another CSS definition. “style def { }”. But even if you do you won’t break your site. It just might look funny from a look and feel stand point. What I typically do is copy and paste the original css sheet into a text editor just so I have it. Then put my changes in, save them and refresh my site to see if the change took hold.
Alchymyth is right, it’s pretty harmless.

In reply to: My menu only allow 10 pages with content!I’d delete the gallery and page reinsert the gallery again making sure for each picture you that click the “post url” button underneath the link to the picture. I know it’s a pain to do this but sometimes WP holds the old gallery setting no matter what you do. So recreating the page is the only way to go.
That should do it!

In reply to: My menu only allow 10 pages with content!Hrmm… it appears that in the one example that’s working you have all of thumbnails linking to the “Post url” and in the one that’s not working you have all of the thumbnail images linking directly to the image itself.
The post displays the description, title, caption, etc of the image and where as the direct link to the image shows none of that.
It look like you insert the images via an image gallery in WordPress and not through a plugin correct?

Could give all of us a link to your site so that we might see what your are talking about? It’s a bit hard to envision with just the description you put above.
Thanks!

In reply to: Making the homepage look less like a blog entryHi there!
Most of what you need can be achieved in the admin panel. I’ve already done some tutorial on these if you are interested.
Setting a page as your default homepage is covered here.
Getting rid of comments on a page or post can be disabled in the edit window of the post or page. Usually that check box is down at the bottom so may have to scroll down a little.
The rearranged tabs can be handled via WordPress custom menu system if your current theme supports it. Which bring me to my next question, what theme are you running? Could give us a link to your site?
Thanks!

In reply to: Menu that sticks to the top of the page?Ah I see. Well, the sorta solution I came up with is pretty darn close to what you are trying accomplish. Might be worth going that route if you can’t figure out the rest. That’s a lot of work to bridge roughly 10px of space. :). I can’t think of a better way to accomplish it at the moment. If I do, I’ll come back and add it to this thread.

In reply to: delete Sidebar Text ?Hey, I found it!
You got to go under the “Voidy Options” under the Appearance section in the Admin panel. Once in there, scroll down and you’ll find the pesky text in a slot called “Sidebar Text”.
Delete the text and you should be good to go!
Cheers!
