Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Thanks so much! ??
Yes, switching to the visual tab makes the button work, and with your CSS my text is now underneath the stars!
5 stars for Darius and YASR! ??
(on my way now to wordpress to rate you!)
With kindest wishes,
Paul
Hi Dario,
Many thanks for your quick reply. Here’s the link:

The issue is towards the end of the post, just underneath the bullet points.
The text in the classic editor is:
But that aside…
- Time travel – excellent!
- Writing quality – excellent!
- Humour – excellent!
- Genre – Historical fiction for someone who doesn’t like history – yes I liked this!

5 stars! ??
(Incidentally, I’ve also tried using the “Yasr shortcode button” displayed by the “Add media” button in the editor but that didn’t insert anything at all, so I’m pasting the shortcode directly myself).
Many thanks in advance!
Paul

In reply to: [Rebalance] Mobile usability issuesI’ve just tested the pages again. The first one was deemed mobile friendly, then a few seconds later it updated to say it wasn’t any more. The second page was mobile friendly too – but it didn’t show anything!
I think I agree with your assessment – something is up at the google end! I’ll mark this thread as resolved. Many thanks for your time looking at it, much appreciated! ??
With best wishes,
Paul

In reply to: [Rebalance] Mobile usability issuesHi Supernovia,
Yes, they gave me these 2 links:
https://www.time2timetravel.com/tag/big-bang/
https://www.time2timetravel.com/tag/time/when I loaded them in the google mobile friendly test page it indeed shows as mobile unfriendly (it also says that the content is wider than the page), but on my phone (which uses safari) they look fine!
Ah…I think I’ve got it.
This is the functions.php file in the plugin directory. I deleted “_head” in line 26.
And I think it works! ??
Many thanks for getting this sorted Nik! ??
Hi Nik,
Many thanks for your reply. Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re asking me to change. Something about the functions.php file?
I have a similar thing too – a Gateway time out error when I access pages and posts whilst I’m logged into wp-admin. (Pages load fine when not logged in.)
“Gateway Timeout. The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.”
Deactivating this plugin means that I can view my pages and posts whilst logged in and I don’t get this gateway error.

In reply to: [Plugin: Yoast SEO] Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported formatHi monbauza,
Many thanks for taking a look. My issue has also somehow resolved itself, but not through anything I tried myself. Not understanding what caused it in the first place is a worry in case it comes back again…Not sure if this information is useful, but when I view my site through the wp-admin/customise menu then everything works fine – the right side bar moves directly under the content and there is no white space to the right of the content…
Hi,
Got the menu sorted (finally!) but I’m still having trouble with the tempera theme responsiveness which also shows on the desktop.
My layout is content with one sidebar on the right. If I reduce the browser window width, everything is fine until the right sidebar drops beneath the content – it’s below, but right justified which means that there’s a lot of white space to the right of the content.
As I reduce screen width further, the white space stays so the content width is always half the screen width.
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the theme, clearing the W3 cache and browser history but the problem remains…
The site is at:
https://www.time2timetravel.com
I’ve enabled the jetpack mobile theme so it looks OK on a phone, but ideally I’d like to disable this and use the theme’s responsiveness – as well it working properly on the desktop version!
Hi again,
I can get around it by enabling the mobile theme module in the jetpack plugin, but I think I’m going to have to sort out the [non theme specific] menu problem before I make to the move to Tempera as I’d like to use a child theme to preserve any future changes.
Site’s set back now to my original (child) theme, my deepest apologies if I’ve wasted your time ??
Paul
Yes, here it is:
https://www.time2timetravel.com
At the moment it’s running directly off the parent theme. I tried creating a child theme with no modifications to the CSS, but it wouldn’t display header menus properly. Then again, I had the same problem with the twentyfourteen theme too so it’s probably something not related to the theme but something else.

In reply to: [Contextual Related Posts] Viewing problems after latest updateI’m embarrassed to admit this but the fault is entirely mine…after updating the plugin I needed to “empty the cache” from the W3 cache plugin. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but I reactivated the excellent CRP plugin, emptied the cache and now everything is working again beautifully!

PS: Nice site, Rick! I’ve bookmarked it and I’ll show it to my Dutch wife who’s much better at Dutch (and in the kitchen) than I! (put “/nl” at the end of my link for my Dutch attempt ??
Hi Jeremy,
Thankyou SO much!! I completely forgot that I’d changed the URL after my initial connection to WordPress.com. I’ve just disconnected and reconnected as you said, and now all is back in order!
Many thanks again! ??
