Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: 4.0 Translations update doesn't go awayThanks,
You are right, most of the .po-files in that location are updated, but the admin area update checker doesn’t pay attention and again it displays the message that there are new updates to the translation files. When I try again, the same files are just updated over and over again, only the update checker in wp-admin does not take notice. I purged all caches. The notifications have stopped working again after having worked for some time. Same error but now it doesn’t work to deactivate and reactivate them. A bug?
This is resolved by simply deactivating notifications and then reactivate them.
Seems like the problem has disappeared after manual clearing of cache.
I also deactivated and reactivated some plugins and removed
quicktags(QTags.instances[0].settings);QTags._buttonsInit();
from ‘OnAfterUpdateComments’ callback which had caused a firebug console error but I doubt any of that was the reason. More likely something wrong with WP Super Cache not clearing the cache properly.I let you know if problems returns.
Great thanks for your fantastic plugin which is the centre-piece of my comments section!
Hi. This happened because the user had been created with the plugin WordPress Social Login and because of that probably lacked the social ID. Once I deleted the old user and logged in (with Super Socializer) to create a new user, I can now change the e-mail of that user and log back in again without a new user being created. Great feature of Super Socializer since this did not work in any of the other social login plugins I tested. Thank you for explaining and for the great support!
Excellent! Works the way I want now. Thank you very much!
Thanks again!
Best regards,
ChrisHere is a post with comments: link
The comments are at the bottom of the page and the links “comment-page-1” are in red color. If you go to another comment page at the pagination links at the bottom and then go back to the first comment page and then again click the red links to the parent comment everything will work as it should – by auto scroll to where the parent comment is. The comment form is not visible unless you log in. There is a log in link (modal) at the top right of the page (“logga in”).
Thanks!
Thank you very much! The developer version has fixed so that ajax works when moving between pages when I am logged out. My first issue is still not working though, when the link to the parent comment is clicked, which should just make the page scroll up to the comment. If the comments are on the second page, the same action works fine since at that point “comment-page-2” has already loaded in the url.
Makes browser reload page:
Post url:https://testsite.net/2014/04/22/a-new-post/
Comment url:https://testsite.net/2014/04/22/a-new-post/comment-page-1/#comment-56
Works:
Post url:https://testsite.net/2014/04/22/a-new-post/comment-page-2
Comment url:https://testsite.net/2014/04/22/a-new-post/comment-page-2/#comment-75
Thanks! I enabled debug but I don’t see anything that looks wrong in firebug console. Also noticed that when I am logged out the browser is reloading when I go to another comment-page. The ajaxify-comments message “Reloading page. Please wait…” is also displayed. And this is added to the URL:
comment-page-4/?WPACFallback=1&WPACRandom=1398610800521#comments
. When I am logged in moving between pages works with Ajax. Here is a post with comments where you can check. After the comment author’s name there is @ sign which has the clickable link to the parent comment to its right.
You can log in here with FB or twitter account (top right corner). Then you can leave comment if you need.
The issue has now been narrowed down to when the Super Socializer Login redirection is set to “Same page where user logged in”. The shortcode works so I will mark this as resolved.
Update:
Since I sent the e-mail I got the shortcode to display. Perhaps this was an issue with caching. The Twitter login freezes again, but on the same page as login shortcode is located on and not a white page.
I also see that facebook login icon (“metro” style icon) only loads about every other time. When it doesn’t display the css says
display:none
Hi,
Login link sent by e-mail.Tested in Windows 8, FF 28.0 and Chrome 33.0.1750.154. Facebook login works great.
