Now I have the definitive solution (at least this is what I believe). The problem is a VPN plugin that gets activated in my browser. Apparently, in combination with WordPress, it doesn’t allow me to publish posts containing the percent sign. As soon as I deactivate the plugin, I can publish as usual. This was a very unexpected behavior.

Bad luck. Just tried again to update my pages, and the problem is back. Then I tried something very unusual. I tried to update the same page with the same percent sign from another computer… and it worked. Now I don’t have any idea what is going on.

Hi, sorry for the delay to answer (was on holidays).

Today I opened my admin session and there was an Elementor update. I did it immediately and then tried to published a post with the percentage sign. It worked. So, original problem solved. I will have a look at Elementor documentation to find out whether this was a known bug fixed in this version but, anyway, it was fixed.

As for the other problems (PHP, SQL server etc.), I will talk about this with the IT people.

    Thanks for the help!

Hi Joy, thanks for your answer!

    Let’s go point by point:

I’m using WP 5.2.2 as well.
    My editor is Elementor.
The “%” impedes updating or publishing in whatever place I locate it in the post. I try to write it as a normal text (e.g. argument on the percentage of population who has done something)
This is the list of my activated plugins:
    – Beautiful taxonomy filter
    – Content Views
    – Data Tables Generator by Supsystic
    – Duplicate Page
    – Elementor
    – Essential Addons for Elementor
    – Health Check & Troubleshooting
    – One Click Demo Import
    – Sydney Toolbox
    – Team Members
    – WP Team Showcase and Slider
I have tested deactivating each one of them and trying to publish a post with the “%” sign. WP still won’t let me publish any post with it.
After installing Health Check as you suggested and correcting some easy-to-go issues, there are still these issues:
    – Critical issue
    — Your PHP version requires an update [my current PHP version is 7.0, not that old]
    – Recommended improvements
    — Have a default theme available [I have the theme Sydney activated]
    — Outdated SQL server
    — One or more recommended modules are missing [explicit mention of “bcmath” and “imagick”]
    — Your site does not use HTTPS

I admit I have no idea whether any of these issues could have such an impact.

My second WP installation has pretty much the same behavior, although it is much simple (with two or three plugins). But it is hosted in the same server.

Any idea based on this checklist?

    Thanks again!
