Hi sorry .. i didn’t realise you had replied .. Did you ever get this to work properly or do you still need some assistance ?

Ok so the case is not that Featured Products are disappearing, they are simply not keeping that status after the product update by cron. Depending on how you are running your updates, you could possibly maintain the status. The only way i’m familiar with is to use WP ALL Import to run your product updates and imports. If by any chance you are using this then i can tell you how to maintain featured products.

Go to Woocommerce > Settings > Product > Display .. you can set your image dimensions at the bottom and select to Hard Crop or not .. after you change these settings, you will need to regenerate your thumbnails using the plugin mentioned just above the settings.

This is normally enough, however it is also possible that your theme may force changes in the images.

I’m not aware of any way to automatically detect orientation and rotate accordingly, but if you edit the settings correctly you should be able to achieve a good effect.

As for adding a comment, do you mean the same comment on every page or a different comment on each page ? Also what theme are you using ?

Let me see if i can talk you through this, just incase you are missing something.

So after you have created Title, Content etc scroll down to Product Data and select Variable Product in the drop down.

You can ignore the other data for now, just go to the Attributes Tab and Click Add Custom Product Attribute.

Give it a name and Values for example

Size S|M|L|XL (you can enter multiple values at once separated by |)

Now tick the 2 boxes Visible on The Product Page & Used for Variations.

    Click Save Attributes

Now go to the Variations Tab … In the drop down Select Create Variations from All Attributes .. Press Go .. You will get a couple of Pop-Ups, just acknowledge them, it’s ok !

Now you should have your variations visible, where you can expand them and add individual stock levels, prices etc .. However if you have set this detail before, then most of it will be inherited. There are also some good bulk tools in the drop down marked Add Variation, where you can bulk edit the price, stock, toggle manage stock etc ..

Follow those instructions and you’ll be good !

Just so i understand … You have a variable product with

    Variation 1 = Single Bottle
    Variation 2 = 6 Pack

If somebody buys a single bottle the stock is being altered as per a single bottle or multiples of 1 ?

But if somebody buys a 6 Pack you would like it to remove 6 bottles from stock ?

The problem is that the stock level for Variation 1 is relative to single bottles but a 6 pack is a single product of it’s own with no connection to the single bottle stock quantities.

If you set a stock level of 30 to Variation 1 then that equates to 30 bottles.

But for Variation 2 you would need to set the Stock level to 5 to equal 30 bottles.

    Make sense ?

Now an easier way to achieve what you want is to create only 1 product for a single bottle, with what ever stock level you wish, then apply a discount for multiple buys, this will achieve the same deal for your customer and also manage your stock correctly for you.

Now if i have misunderstood you then please ignore

I’m pretty sure WP All Import now supports JSON, they have a demo area where you can test your feed before purchase. They do have a free version but i’m pretty sure it only supports local csv files. The premium version is outstanding and the support to match. I’m not affiliated but i use a lot of product feeds and it has proved to be priceless.

I think the simplest option would be a plugin, unless you are capable of custom coding it yourself.

I’m pretty sure this will do what you need .

What exactly do you need to achieve ?

Do you have a cron job to import or update products ?

Woocommerce does not have any ability for bidding in the manor of ebay Auctions, however i believe there is a plugin which will turn it into a multi-vendor site, more similar to Amazon … Take a look at Woothemes Product Vendors

Yeh i never really found a suitable plugin, so thought i would ask again in the hope that someone might have a better option. Unfortunately i couldn’t find the old thread.

I struggled with this for a very long time … But i recently found WP All Import .. It has an add on for Woocommerce and it’s flawless ! It’s a little bit pricey but it really does do what it says .. I’ve used it without the add-on for numerous csv & xml affiliate feeds and it has never failed on any format ! It allows you to map the fields from the feed to the fields within WordPress or Woocommerce using a Drag & Drop interface .. really simple. The standard version doesn’t work with variable products, which is why i recently purchased the Woocom Add On .. which makes life very simple.
Just so you know, i have nothing to do with the developers and this is truly the first time i have ever “plugged” a plugin. But i searched for something like this for nearly 2 years. There is a limited free version, so i suggest you give it a try .. Good luck !
