In reply to: url and link issuesWell, I added the domain with the help of phpmyadmin as mentioned under “Changing the URL directly in the database” but I ended up breaking everything (doubleckeched the url and it was correct both for “siteurl” and “home”.
For some reason wordpress didn’t recognize the same pages with https://www.rockpocketgames.com

In reply to: url and link issuesHehe sorry for being such a pain esmi, and thanks for your feedback but I still didn’t get a direct answer ??
Can I just change both of them to https://www.rockpocketgames.com in the general settings or is that going to break the DB and links completely?
So can I just change the two urls in the wordpress backend or do I need to use one of the more complicated methods?

In reply to: url and link issuesI mentioned that link in my OP and said I am still confused as to how to exactly do it for my case.
What I am confused about:
The url https://www.rockpocketgames.com is pointed at https://server50.hostpoint.ch/~rockpock/rockpocketgamesBoth the WordPress Address and Site Address in the General settings are set to https://server50.hostpoint.ch/~rockpock/rockpocketgames
Can I just change both of them to https://www.rockpocketgames.com in the general settings or is that going to break the DB and links completely?
Sorry I am a total newb when it comes to domain redirects and folder pointing which includes databases.

In reply to: URL mess and plugin issuesNevermind, I figured it out myself.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: URL mess and plugin issuesQuestion again: Under settings where you define the wordpress address url:
It is still using the temp link I had to use without the DNS pointed at the domain/folder which was https://server50.hostpoint.ch/~rockpock/oliverandspike/blog/Can I change that and if so, what to? The actual domain name? oliverandspike.com or blog.oliverandspike.com (both domains are linking to the folder with the installation). I did not move any of the files – I would just like to get rid of the ugly link in urls for obvious reasons).
If I change that info in the settings – will it screw up the database?
I found this article (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL) but I am confused if this actually is what I need to do since I did not move any folders and files. And if so, which of all the solutions would be best? Thanks again for any kind of help ??

In reply to: One database two themesferuxx, I use the Theme Test Drive-Plugin which works like a charm to set up two differen themes while not touching your desktop theme or main theme ??

In reply to: One database two themesIf you have a theme switcher, you need to setup the different themes on themselves as well, correct? How is that done?

In reply to: One database two themesOh that’s great to know with the functions.php – I’ll check that. Thanks again ??
Unfortunately I cannot help with your issue ??

In reply to: One database two themesI just realized something else – the shortcodes used for the desktop theme don’t work on the mobile adpative theme (of course) since those are unique per theme..is there a way I can adjust that? I guess not if they are using the same DB -.-
ARGH!!
Thanks for the help btw ??

In reply to: One database two themesThe menu doesn’t work on the mobile version though, right? AT least on my iPhone the submenus are bugged
Maybe I just need to use a different adaptive theme then for the mobile. The plugin I currently use is: WordPress Mobile Pack

In reply to: One database two themesI do have a plugin installed which automatically switches if someone is using a mobile them. That would still not be possible with two installations? How would I test and setup the second theme then – or how do you do that with a theme switcher for instance?
wptouch is way too simple for me – I need pictures and such too
Ah I am an idiot – I figured it out ??
