  • Podz, hey! I really like the look and feel of Dots, but maybe I’ll take up your suggestion of going after Trident. Any idea on how I could set that up to be edited in Dreamweaver?

    Hi all,
Was wondering if there was any way for me to alter specific portions of the template, so that the colours of each of the three columns were different? Or is that pretty much a lost cause? The site link is https://www.venialsin.com.
    Thanks!

Out of curiousity, can design templates also affect the way comments look/are handled? I have a blog at https://sincity.typepad.com, which I’m trying to transition over to my own domain, but I really like the look and feel of the MT blog, and am wondering if anyone knows of WP options that would let me create something similar.

I’ve seen a couple of users comment on my blog, but when I try to, I get this message:
Warning: strpos(): Empty delimiter. in /home/location/www/www/wp-content/plugins/kittens-spaminator.php on line 231
Warning: strpos(): Empty delimiter. in /home/location/www/www/wp-content/plugins/kittens-spaminator.php on line 231

Sorry, you’ve banned from commenting on this blog.
Either your comment content was found to contain spam, or your IP address (or a subnet of your IP address) has spammed this blog before.
Is there any way for me to get around this problem? I don’t want to deactivate the comment spam filters, but it’d be nice to be able to respond to my own posts. ??

I appreciate the effort that has gone into WP, but this installation BLOWS. At least on my end. I’ve been trying to install the damn’ program for a good day now, and once I finally got all my files uploaded and everything sorted, I followed the instructions to go to my domain and the wp-admin/install.php file.
At which point, I received this error message:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/venialsi/www/www/wp-admin/install.php on line 533
I just don’t get it any more. This 5-minute installation has turned into a nightmare, and I’m really desperate to get started with this whole thing. If anyone could help out, I’d really appreciate it.

It’s version 4.3.9. In sheer frustration, I’ve deleted the entire installation and am going to try to upload and run it one more time. In any case, I’m sure that I shouldn’t be seeing code when I run the install.php file in wp-admin. Any idea why that’s happening?
And thank you for the removal. Much appreciated ??

Sorry about the double-post. Didn’t mean for that to happen. My apologies.

I’m having a somewhat similar problem. I’ve been using Firefox to get my WP installation going, and it keeps displaying massive amounts of code along with a section at the bottom which let me click through the steps for setup. Each install step has looked like this, below, but hasn’t had any “error” messages, not like this one.
    $this->col_info as $col ) { $new_array[$i] = $col->{$info_type}; $i++; } return $new_array; } else { return
    [more raw code showing]
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/venialsi/www/www/wp-includes/wp-db.php:284) in /home/venialsi/www/www/wp-login.php on line 188
    [repeated similar warnings]
And most frustratingly, although it’s given me a user name and password, every time I enter it on the login page, it tells me that the password field is blank. This is the fifth time I’m trying to install WP and get off MovableType, but I’m a few minutes away from giving up. Any ideas or suggestions about what I can/should do?
    Thanks!
