In reply to: Smaller font size in Kubrick theme postsGlad it worked out ??

In reply to: Smaller font size in Kubrick theme postsI’m using a modified Kubrick on my site as well. To have more control over my typography I deleted “content” and specified the font-size value for each element. I don’t know if that makes it easier but it was simpler for me to understand.
You can check out my stylesheet but it’s not very pretty at the moment!

In reply to: Smaller font size in Kubrick theme postsems just sort of means it’s proportional. Change it down to 1.1em to make it smaller.

In reply to: Smaller font size in Kubrick theme postsIf I’m not mistaken, if you the above you willl change the font size of all typography across your site.
To change the font size of just your posts, change the content font-size:
#content {
font-size: 1.2em
}Just tested it, this will change your post font-size, as well as your header font-size. You can change the header back by changing the h2 font-size value.

In reply to: Firefox & Mac Browser ErrorsPerhaps the first step would be to try and make the site validate and then take it from there.

In reply to: Help in designI’m afraid you’re going to have to be a little more specific if you want good constructive advice.
I would recommend looking for a similar theme from the codex and tweaking it to your needs.

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: updating Header in KubrickYou’ll have to change the relevant files in header.php as well.
You might want to check out K2, the successor to Kubrick. Still in testing but pretty stable, check it out over at the authors site.

Glad you got it all sorted out ??

In reply to: Default themeI think that the Photoshop .psd is more relevant to the theme on earlier versions of WordPress than the current one I have.
What do you mean?
I’m amazed that its so difficult to change the default style – dont people use them? or are the gurus not here?
I use the default theme, as do many others. And people have answered your questions as how to go about making the changes you want.
I’m off to find a theme that I can work with.
Check out the Codex. Good luck with your blog ??

In reply to: Default themeCan I just ask, how are you editing the images files?
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Default themeOk lets try to sort this sucker out.
Basically the default theme is comprised of four images, kubrickbg.jpg(the borders), kubrickbgcolor.jpg (the background colour), kubrickfooter.jpg (the footer) and kubrickheader.jpg (erm..the header). These are the files you want to change. Get them looking how you want them, save, empty out your cache and then you should be good to go.
If you name the files something else, you’ll have to change the appropriate lines in the header.php file.
The default theme relies on images which makes it more cumbersome to change but it is in fact pretty flexible. For example I’m using the default theme as the core on my blog and it looks very different to how it looks out of the box.
You might want to also check out the sequel to Kubrick, K2. Similar but with more options and no images. Still in testing though (but it works fine).
Of course you’re free to use Frontpage if you want. Good luck with designing a clean functional blog with that though ??
