Kaoss: stay tuned for tomorrow where I find out if it’s the theme or not.

Esmi: the old theme was called “Mike’s Little Journalized Theme” by Mike Little: www.https://zed1.com/

I do not believe it is supported any more but was a great, simple theme without bells and whistles.

Now it appears the bells and whistles are mandatory.

It took a while but I located a three column theme that I can modify with a bit of work to change colors, fonts and other features as I hate white backgrounds. It’s called “Atahualpa.”

I am waiting for one of my old pre-posted videos to appear tomorrow because I suspect if I try pre-posting something now I won’t be getting true results as the problems appear to be those from posts I loaded up prior to upgrading to WP V3.5.

Another is “Mantra” but I am holding off activating it until I can see what “Atahualpa” will do.

Thanks again for responding. Tomorrow I will know better.

I get about 1,000 visits per day, about double that in page views. As for wp-cron and the tech stuff…..I am about as t4chnologically backward as you can imagine. I can meddle my way around FTP’ing stuff into folders but start talking servers and processes and language and my brain locks up. Maybe if I were younger it would not seem so baffling.

As for the site, I rarely change anything. Once I set it up I do not go adding plug-ins or changing the theme. It’s worked well for 5 years (other than the “missed schedule” thing I needed to fix almost 2 years ago but since then, fine. Upgrade to V 3.5and problems surge. Baffling, irritating and annoying.

Just changed the theme and well……. looks like a theme issue. DAMN!!!!

Will change back to the old theme, re-pre-post those vids and see what happens. If it still does not work it looks like I have to find a new theme. And I SO liked the simplicity of the one I had.

Looks like I will need it since some posts did not show up even after 20 minutes.

But since neither did the videos when the plug-in was turned off, then I doubt it is the problem. I turned off all the others and re-pre-posted the videos. They also did not show up.

Pretty much rules out the plug-ins. On to switching themes. Wish me luck.

Well, it appears the “missed schedule” issue might be fixed. Everything is going off w/o a hitch. HOWEVER, the videos STILL are not posting.

    Will try de-activating more plug-ins.

As for the last update on Missed Sched plug-in? 09-20-2011

Am currently testing by de-activating it. Have posted 4 pre-posts and then 4 more with video to see what happens.

    Will update soon.

If interested (and it is not some people’s cup of tea, the blog is: https://www.antzinpantz.com/kns Might help. Maybe not.

    Will check into update date.

Thanks for being so quick with replies. I do appreciate it. Not to go too off-topic but that “Missed Schedule” thing, when I research it months ago, attributed it to (and don’t quote me directly) something to do with the server side software (which I have no control over) and some timing mechanism embedded into WordPress to push out posts at some regular interval. Since, at that time, there was no solution, this plug-in was recommended as it boot-forced the server to spit anything out more than 5 minutes past its “post-by” time. Been working like a champ every since.

I’ve tried disabling it in the past to see what would happen and stuff never got posted.

Still leaves me in a bit of a pickle given I can’t control my provider’s server’s code and versions.

Just out of curiosity: how would a plug-in that allows me to preview the post and see the video all of a sudden cause that same post to drop all the code upon posting?

Does not make sense that plug-ins would have a discriminator for pre-posting something and posting something immediately.

Also, one of my plug-ins is “WP Missed Schedule” because my pre-posted entries have been failing to show up for over a year and the plug-in was the only solution to fix it. If I disable it I can’t very well test to see if it is that plug-in given that my problem is with pre-posts and nothing would ever show up for me to tell if there is a problem with it.

    Any ideas?

I suspect you’re right. But I still would like to know how it happened.

    Hostmonster

Looks like it cleared up for me, too.

    WTF?!?!?!

    Why? How?

I suspect a dormant bug has infected some code.

Looks like we need a WP expert.

Any moderators out there hear of this?

And, no, I have Host Monster.

Sorry, no. Am having the same problem. Do not know how to fix.

All of a sudden I started having that problem. Posted new material this morning with no problem.

All of a sudden this afternoon all my posts refuse the categories I give them and go to the default, “Uncategorized.”

I tried deleting my cache and also used my provider’s dashboard controls to repair and optimize all my databases (which went off without a hitch.)

Also noticed that if I take an older/previous post and try to change the categories it immediately defaults to “uncategorized.”

    (@tavaresv)

Turns out I had an older version of a index.php file plus every time I tried to post a new article to my blog some file got called up (wp.post(?) which tried to index/gather every single previous post I made.

My ISP modified that file and all my throttling issues seems to have disappeared.

Thanks for no one even trying to help me out here.
