The delete account issue I had has recently been fixed.
Basically, on my website some custom code changes had been manually made to the theme (specially to the file functions.php). When these were reversed out the delete account issue was fixed. Ultimate Member support were helpful and guided me to find the issue.
You can see if it is something related to your theme by switching to the basic wordpress theme, e.g. “twenty seventeen”. If this solves to problem then consider any manually changes you may have made to the theme.
Also, the impression I get is that it is safer to follow the way Ultimate Member is intended to work rather than try and do anything fancy with custom code.
