In reply to: wp-admin/network/ NOT staying in the right pathIn my original message, I said this was on a production server. I first built this site on a staging server. Once I had everything working, I rebuilt the multisite network on the production server the same way.
The multisite install on the staging server does not display this problem. The site on the production server does display this problem.
Supposedly, the two servers are set up identically (hardware, software, etc, except that the stage server is only visible inside the University firewall. The production server is visible from anywhere.

In reply to: wp-admin/network/ NOT staying in the right pathThis is a windows server and hosts many domains. So, there are clearly folders, but I think the answer is no to your question.
the domain’s folder is /pages-pharmacy/ and the whole site is installed there. No subdirectory was created for it.
Just to be clear- the actual URL is
https://www.pages.pharmacy.pitt.edu/When I am logged in, and I select “My Sites” I get to this URL: https://www.pages.pharmacy.pitt.edu/wp-admin/network/
If I select “All Sites” I get this URL which produces a 404 error
https://www.pages.pharmacy.pitt.edu/wp-admin/sites.phpBut if I manually edit the URL to this, I get the correct stuff:
https://www.pages.pharmacy.pitt.edu/wp-admin/network/sites.phpForum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Site prompts to update Network even after it has been done.Yes, I understand. I took the server admin’s answer to mean that they do not use any caching. When he replied ” or anything similar.”
Where dies WP look for the data to determine if the updating has been done? Is it in the database? Where?

In reply to: Site prompts to update Network even after it has been done.According to the swerver administrator:
To answer your specific question, no we do not use memcache, xcache, or anything similar on the webservers.
Is there something about the database that can be involved that can be causing this issue?

In reply to: Admin slowness and other issues after 3.7.1 updateThe web server admin tells me he is having some other issues with Word Press for other users, and so feels there is something not properly set up for our servers. Our plan is to test doing the update on a stage server so we can monitor the server during the update and see what we learn about this as well as his other issues.
I’ll report back on the findings.

In reply to: increase file upload size for sites in multisiteForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: File upload sizeI have the Acunetic Security plugin installed and it shows “PHP Max Upload Size as 200M
But the WP page shows 1M as the file upload max.
In another case (this is a single site, not multisite, once the database was imported, I lost the ability to open the wp-admin pages.
newsite.com/wp-admin/ would redirect to oldsite.com/wp-admin/
After the database was imported on the new server, the URL produced a page that read “Error Establishing a Database connection.

In reply to: Move an entire Multisite set up from one server to anotherWhat is the relationship between the web.config file, the webconfig.php file and the database? How do these two files that sit inside of the Multisite directory afftect the site, and what is the interaction between these files and the database?
