Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: After Install 2.6 Have error in theme pageI fixed it by insuring that the original “default” theme and “classic” theme were the ONLY themes in the theme directory. Once I did that, all worked. I was then able to add new themes, and have had no problems. But it required those two to remain, if I removed them, to save space, not that I need to, it had problems again. I had also tried to rename my preferred theme to default, but that did not work.

In reply to: Fatal error: Cannot use string offsetOk, got it fixed. Had to remove ALL plugins, then make sure that the original default and classic where the only two themes in the themes directory, then I was able to get more added. What a pain!!

In reply to: After Install 2.6 Have error in theme pageI have the same problem, but all plugins are inactive, and I even added the (unneeded?) code above. Do I need to actually remove the plugins?

In reply to: Missing Categories?Desertdiva,
The only way I could cleanly fix it (and I’m still trying to remember what the categories where) was to go into the DB and edit each wp_terms that was blank. I then went back to Manage/Categories and checked each to see if it was right. Took a little bit of time, but it fixed my issues. Luckily I only have 10 categories!!
Good luck!!

In reply to: Missing Categories? The wp_categories field is not in my DB anymore. But my db export file is too big to reinstall… Does anyone have a strong DB (mySQL) background that can give me the command line to extra the structure of that field and the content and import into the DB?
Thanks,
Don

In reply to: Fatal error: Cannot use string offsetAdded complications, if I only have one theme in the wp-content/themes directory, I still don’t see it in the dashboard, nor can I edit via the dashboard. (I’m using 2.6.1 of WP!)
