In reply to: [Spam Master] Not sure what his does or how it worksWe never thank you for your kind rating. And as usual will probably regret answering… but here it goes.
We actually implemented a bunch of features that you talk about, let’s see:
“free version seems to be plug-n-play, no configuration. It says it’s blocking me from “4 threats” but you can’t see what those threats are” there is configuration now and you can see and add/edit the threats
“You can’t create your own blacklist”, you can now, add and delete
“For the money they need to give you a lot more”, the money is for RBL license, and the money is pretty much nothing nowdays.
“be very specific about how it works, where they get their spam list, how often it’s updated, needs to show blocked registrations and you should have the ability of manually allowing a blocked registration by clicking an “approval” link.”, how it works and spam lists are pretty much secrets, sorry about that… except if you are a lurker spammer, then it’s important to know that (we actually know that spammers download the plugins here to break and implement better spam schemes for wordpress.
Last paragraph… the corporate world spam filters. We use or own filters and an array of RBL lists that get combined. Now you can get a blocked registration list. About mark it as not spam, it’s implemented in comments (after registration) but not registrations… the daily list of spam registration blocks is huge and they are pretty much useless and database heavy, but if more users ask for it, they will receive.

In reply to: [TechGasp Comments Master] GarbageThanks Pippin,
Unfortunately the wordpress ratings actively discriminates professional plugin developers. Most of the ratings are unfair and unreasonable. Plugin developers have to “invent” ways of presenting professional products just because unlike Joomla there is no difference between commercial and non-commercial extensions. Joomla is also open source, based upon the same principles of wordpress but you can list extensions as commercial (and you don’t see these ridiculous comments that don’t really help users choosing extensions, commercial or not).

In reply to: [TechGasp Talk Master] Does NOT work!!!Hello Guys, thanks for the comments.
@esmi, love wordpress but unfortunately when it comes to the comment and rating system in the plugin directory, it’s far from perfect or just terrible… it’s probably the only thing that Joomla does better.
Plenty of post and blogs regarding this issue.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Spam Master] Using with s2MemberHappy that it’s working on your end.
Sorry to tell you, you will never get 100% blocks, it’s just impossible no matter what plugin you use, because new emails, domains and ip’s are constantly being created.
We have noticed that 6 months is usually enough for your website to be unlisted from spammer attack lists and bots. Because they also have bills to pay and they don’t like to waist human or hardware resources with webites that block them and fight them back big time…. they rather prey on easy websites ??Forum: Plugins
