In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] MultisiteJust tested plugin version 1.0 on multi-site and it works as described. After installing the plugin and creating a new page, the discussion check-boxes are unchecked by default. You can download a copy of it at techism.com:

I’m looking into v. 2.0 now. Since this question was regarding version 1.0, I’m marking this as resolved, however I am continuing to look into how the new version works for multisite. I’ll post updates here.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] MultisiteYou asked this about version 1.0 of the plugin. It sounds like you are no wtrying version 2.0 which was released after my reply. I’m interested in making sure this complies with multi-site and will take a look.
Also, you may be misunderstanding the nature of the plugin. The main thing this does is uncheck the discussion boxes on new posts or pages by default per your prefs settings. Is that working?
If it’s just the back-toggle not working, I can look into that for sure. If it’s both, I can look into that too.

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] MultisiteYes. ??
I’m guessing you don’t understand what the plugin is for, because I tested this in Graphene with a wp 3.2 install, and it works great. Can you explain more about the problem you are having?

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] [Plugin: Page Comments Off Please] Doesn't WorkThis isn’t to hide the checkboxes. It’s to uncheck them by default. I still don’t think you understand what this plugin does:
Every time I created a new page, I had to uncheck those boxes. Most of my clients would forget to do this and it was annoying. I wanted to set the default to be unchecked on “pages” and leave them checked for “posts”. I was not the first person to desire this, and there were many posts from people asking for this functionality. So I made it, for free. If that’s something you are looking for, then great. If not, then it’s not for you. That’s ok too.
I’m marking this resolved.
Would you mind changing your “broken” vote back to “Works”?
Thanks,-Techism

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] [Plugin: Page Comments Off Please] Doesn't WorkFollow up: This plugin doesn’t un-set the value that may have been saved with existing pages. It does not have a retro-active effect. It’s great for moving forward, but you should uncheck the boxes and update any existing pages.

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] [Plugin: Page Comments Off Please] doesnt workFollow up: I couldn’t let it go, so I just tested with a fresh install of wp 3.0.2 to match your configuration. I verified and recorded that the plugin works exactly as expected.

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] [Plugin: Page Comments Off Please] doesnt workHi Jeffreeeey,
Update: I just tested in 3.0.1 and it is working fine. Try turning off other plugins and see if one is interfering?
I’ve just verified that this still works in version 3.1 as well. I know I used this with 3.0.2 also.
I think this is not a problem with the plugin…

In reply to: [Page Comments Off Please] [Plugin: Page Comments Off Please] Doesn't WorkCan you provide more information? I’m the developer of this plug-in and haven’t heard any reports of problems yet. I just double-checked that this works on a fresh 3.1 install and had no problems (even with the new advanced ‘screen options’ form!) (lucky me!).
You may have misunderstood what the plugin does?
This doesn’t hide existing comments. It simply disables the page comments check-boxes as a default option. This plugin is for people using wordpress as a CMS who use lots of pages, rather than posts. For these users, unchecking the “show page comments” and “allow track backs /pingbacks” form on every new page is a chore. This plugin is designed to help with that tiny nuisance.
If you are having problems with the plugins functionality, please provide more information. (WordPress version, steps you followed, what you expected, and what happened) Thank you.

In reply to: Create custom css-driven layout snippets with wysiwyg preview?Well, kinda…
The bummer here is that after getting my code snippets worked up and in place, the editor is so odd about it that things start getting hard to manage really quickly.
For example, if I put content into my left column and hit enter, the editor for crazy reasons closes the left column div, and creates a second one. If I try to click outside my column group and hit enter, it makes new divs with class “columns” and puts them around everything thereafter.
There has to be a way to do this…
As it is right now, I’ll have to write a very complicated plugin with all kinds of interface logic to extend the editor to accomplish the basic task of adding a column div set into my page content without things getting all gummed up.
Is there perhaps a better editor than TinyMCE for this kind of thing?

In reply to: My plugin doesn't show up in searches of plugin directory?Done, thanks!
Hmm. After doing this and then activating the plugin, it caused my wysiwyg editor to stop showing previews (it only showed html in both tabs). It looks like this plugin just isn’t in the cards for me ??
