FIGURED it out. Since I was using 4.01 none of the instructions using wp-config were valid. I carefully read the instructions on the code localization plugin instead of trying to do everything manually and I got it to work. Product Categories still would not translate for me, so I changed it in the Widget title section on the widgets page in admin. No advanced code in the functions files would change it either. I had to do it from the widgets section.

I am really getting frustrated. I gave up on this idea and pursued the translation method through po files. I created a copy of the default language file in woocommerce languages and used the plug in translator code design localization I saved them in the correct folder they told me to I followed all of the instructions, I modified the wp-config file to change the language to en_us, and matched the file name po and mo… I tried changing it to en_GB, that didn’t work either- nothing changes ever. I also followed all the instructions to change the language in my theme (travelfy) and pasted the language from the woocommerce language file into it just in case that would work and also put theme language in the woo commerce language file to see if that would work- (I combined the two files into one and put copies in both places), I am just at wits end with this. Cannot change a single word on this website.
I found out I am using the newest version of wordpress 4.01 and so I chose the custom language from the settings in admin and deleted WPLANG in wp-config and STILL does not work. I tried putting it in different directories and renaming it and chosing it from the dropdown menue in admin settings and STILL NO CHANGES.

Hi schreikrampf. I’ve been trying very hard to use the get_text kia_text_string code to change the words product and categories to an appropriate title for my friend’s dog breed website. I just want it to say puppies instead of products. And instead of categories I would like puppy breeds. But I have tried without success to use that code. I have two questions for you- 1. How did you fix the problem you were having with the headers error? I got that error too (originally) and fixed it by moving the location of the code in my function.php file in my theme folder. However, the words do not get replaced because I do not what to replace for ‘Theme_text_domain’. I wanted to follow your example, and put my acutal domain in there- but I was unable to locate an ENGLISH language PO file. I don’t have a folder called Language under WP-includes.
    How did you get it?

Your not helping me by saying that Andrew. When I chose the theme I chose it because it was the default theme and it had a perfect layout for my client’s needs. Had I known the issues it was going to have I wouldn’t have chosen it but that is neither here nor there after having spent hundreds of hours on it can’t switch now.
Thank you to dfrank90 for the great tip. ??

I wish someone would answer this because I would love to figure it out I have searched everywhere. I HATE the mobile menu button and I want it to go away but I can’t figure out how to get rid of it either. ??

if it will help someone to help me I have the ID number an the KEY. I just don’t know what line of code or lines of code to put in there and which file to put it in. I’m thinking it will go on the function file cuz thats where the other meta code for the listing page is.
