In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] WP-Bitly discontinuedSend me an email at mark at temeritystudios dot com
Transferring will be a slow process at the moment, I have a few projects on the go and a planned absence starting next week that will severely impact my ability to react in a timely fashion. If you’re still interested, send me an email.

In reply to: [Media Cleaner: Clean your WordPress!] I get it, I need the Pro version.Appreciate the response Jordy, and I hope you continue to work on and improve your plugins as they look fantastic.
Ultimately my review is not based on the functionality and is only a reflection of the UX and for that reason, I still wanted to give you the highest rating I felt possible. I’ll try your plugin on some other simpler client sites and if I’m able to navigate the interface and successfully clean up their media libraries I will definitely come back and update my review.

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] SSL SupportHi, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I’ll take a look at the current API methods and if they don’t support any updates from Bitly then yes the plugin will be updated to stay current.
Support will be minimal for the next month as I’m out of the country. I’m bookmarking this thread so that it will be at the top of my list when I return.
That would be annoying. A little less because hopefully you’re only seeing it on the plugins page (it was intended to be less intrusive than a dashboard wide message)?
There’s a strong chance I haven’t updated the meta it’s looking for since I brought the authentication up to date with Bitly’s API. I’ll look into this as soon as I can and should have a fix with the next release.

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] Why not getting edited Shortlinks? No response in the Bitly API forum. For some reason they didn’t approve and post my original message asking about this and I’ve posted another one.

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] “Get Shortlink” button not appearing on new postsThe plugin doesn’t generate links for drafts as these may never see the light of day. It will generate shortlinks for any post (or page) that is published or scheduled to be published at a later date.
If your client needs a shortlink for a future post so that they can schedule social media sharing around it, they can schedule the post by setting the date in the WordPress Publish meta box, and clicking Schedule. At this point WP Bitly will generate a shortlink that they can use.
Hope this helps!

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] “Get Shortlink” button not appearing on new postsCouple of quick questions for you;
Is this using the latest version of the plugin? (Assuming so, but double checking for clarity)
Have you double checked that the post type you are viewing is in the list of allowed post types (/wp-admin/options-writing.php, Post Types, links will only be generated for those post types selected here)?
Is the WP Bitly meta box appearing on the right side, and if so, have you or the client tried using the regenerate link to see if that fixed the issue?

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] manual sortlinkNot at present. This could be a feature we may implement in the future if there’s enough interest in it!

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] Notice: Trying to get property of a non-objectThis is fixed in the version/2.5.1 branch, should be released to the repo in the next 48 hours!

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] Why not getting edited Shortlinks?Quick update on this, I was able to verify that after editing a link via the dashboard, the Bitly API is not returning the new hash. None of the available endpoints return the new hash, only the old, which still appears to work at least.
Opening a new issue on the Github repo for WP Bitly here. Unsure when this will be fixed as it appears it may be an issue with the API and not our plugin.

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] Creating Multiple Sortlinks Same PageApologies for the late response on this, it’s been a busy week and it’s going to get worse!
If I’m following you correctly, at present the WP Bitly plugin doesn’t provide an interface or option for embedding external shortlinks, and only generates shortlinks for WordPress pages, posts and custom post types.
However. This does seem like it might be an incredibly helpful feature to add in the next release. I’ll make a note to update the shortcode and php function to allow any URL.
I’ll post back here and let you know once this functionality is ready for prime time!

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] Notice: Trying to get property of a non-objectThank you for bringing this to our attention! Justin Sternberg has also reported this and a few other warnings that have appeared in an issue opened here: https://github.com/temeritystudios/wp-bitly/issues/2
I am swamped right now and desperately trying to get to this and other issues as fast as I can. I will post here when there are updates!
Gotcha. It’s not immediately clear in the free version that this is a premium only feature, at least it was not for me. Heck I didn’t even realize there was a premium version, the description on the plugins repository page led me to believe all the features listed there were possible with the version I downloaded.
Thanks for the information! You as well Dennis.

In reply to: [Bitly's Wordpress Plugin] Why not getting edited Shortlinks? That’s a good question, the API doesn’t suggest a different endpoint or set of arguments to retrieve customized shortlinks so it was assumed that no other action would be needed from WP Bitly for those.
I’ll look into this as soon as I can and let you know what we find.
