In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Confused about adding css classOddly enough, it wouldn’t work with “strong”. It also wouldn’t work with the state name, until I removed the
<strong>
tag from the state name in the table. Now I don’t know which is worse – having to enter each state name separately, and having all the state names unbolded, or just leaving the state names in bold and forget about the idea of changing the background color on those rows.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Confused about adding css classOK. So I’ve downloaded the extension and activated it. To test it, I added the following to Custom CSS
.tablepress-id-1 .row-highlight-California td { background-color: #c5eaf5 !important; }
and placed this shortcode on my page
[table id=1 row_highlight="California" /]
It’s not highlighting the row with the State name “California” in it. Did I do something wrong?
Also, will the plugin look for a term like<strong>
? Because my state name rows are all in bold. As I continue to create the list, I may have rows that will contain the name of the state, but not be intended to be a state name row – like “Virginia County” under the Virginia State listings. If it will look for<strong>
I could cover all the State Name rows with one value, instead of having to type in each of the state names in the codes and the shortcode.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Newsletters] Imported subscriber list issuesMessage from web host:
I doubt you’re going to reach any resource limits with what you’re doing there, but you can see the key metrics in the panel under “Resource Usage” over on the right. Looks like you might be up there a bit with CPU usage from time to time, but that’s all. I wonder if any peaks there coincide with usage of the plugin. The result of that would be that we just throttle things a little, nothing is actually stopped, but I suppose that could result in a timeout of the web interface of course.
Things seem to be running a bit more smoothly this morning – I was able to send out my initial newsletter to 82 subscribers. We’ll see how things go from here.

In reply to: [Newsletters] Timeout errors when creating newsletterThat seemed to resolve the hangups. Thanks!

In reply to: [Newsletters] Timeout errors when creating newsletterI put in a trouble ticket with the host. They said “something is taking a really long time to accomplish”. They guessed mail not being configured properly, but I don’t see how that could be since 1) this is happening while trying to compose the newsletter, not while tring to send it; and 2) when I test the mail settings, I get a Success message and the test email goes through. It serms to be the Live preview that just spins and spins, and even clicking the “view message” button causes the page to throw a 503 error. Would seeing the error log help pinpoint the issue?

In reply to: Unable to upload imagesIn Plesk, it shows most of the directories’ user name as the login name of the Plesk control panel. The upload directory’s user name is apache. I don’t know where else to look to find ownership.

In reply to: Stuck on maintenance mode. But no “.maintenance” file.I have also been getting stuck in maintenance mode when updating plugins. And my site’s admin area has been working extremely sluggishly of late. I can’t pinpoint when this happened. Grandchef, are you by any chance running Google Analyticator? I’m trying to see if disabling that makes any difference. I also installed UpdraftPlus (free), but this slow running started before I installed that.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Googlebot Crawl ErrorsCurrently using 2.5.12. I’d update, but when I click “View version 2.5.19 details” the popup box gives no information as to what WordPress core version it’s compatible with, or when it was last updated.
This is the first link in the list of errors. It’s a 500 error.

Oddly enough, I have installed this plugin, but it will not activate. “WPBackItUp was not able to create the required backup and restore folders”.

In reply to: [Front End PM] Edit or delete messages?Thanks! Re-installing did the trick.

In reply to: [Front End PM] Edit or delete messages?Before I do that, a couple of questions:
1) If I delete the plugin, will that delete all of the existing messages from the database?
2) I can see “All Messages” in my personal Inbox, just not on the Admin Dashboard. But I do not see a way to delete individual messages, just entire message threads. Should I be able to delete individual messages?

In reply to: [Front End PM] Edit or delete messages?You can ignore the last message. I found that when I updated everything, it deleted the settings for “who can access private message system”. Once I re-checked the appropriate boxes, it can now be accessed. However, I still do not see “All Messages” when I click “Front End PM” in my Dashboard. And I see no way for a person to delete their own message in the PM system.
