In reply to: [Raffle Play Woocommerce] Legalities/gaming regulations considerationsDan,
Thanks for your reply – even though it’s largely what I expected, it’s good to know that our understanding of things has us at least on the right page. Our goal then is to be able to use your plugin legally as an organization that meets the other criteria for hosting raffles. We have extra details to consider, as we happen to be situated on tribal grounds.
Anyway, we will probably have to engage in a ‘limited capacity partnership’ with a local organization until we’re able to do things autonomously, but we’ll probably be able to use RafflePlay for that, so this probably won’t be the last time you hear from us!
Thanks again!

In reply to: [Protect WP Admin] Works, sort ofWell it’s not the only WP site I run, and it gets about 10 times the amount of suspicious traffic as any of the others, so there is some factor setting it apart from the others.
I’ll venture to say that since it’s been mostly bots attacking my site all along, this plugin hasn’t improved the situation which caused me to seek it out much at all.

In reply to: [Protect WP Admin] Works, sort ofSame here. Wordfence shows that I’m still getting many login attempts. For some reason one of my sites is being aggressively hit by these from Russia and The Ukraine (to be fair – the URL used to belong to a porn site, but that was over 10 years ago).
It’s a bot, trying the same (non-existent) usernames over and over. Is there anything we can do about this?
ALSO – thanks for taking the time to look at my question and page, and that little bit of code – which might actually be the solution I’m looking for (I’m really not very experienced). CHEERS!
I sent you an email through your site after poking around and understanding you code a bit more. I do see that it’s a box, and what my email was about – was how/where I might insert something that might fit into the upper left (or TOP of the first column).
It seems like you do understand what I’m trying to do, and I understand if it isn’t actually possible, but let me articulate it another way:
The theme I’m using (Atahulapa) allows for “custom widget areas” by inclusion of code like this:
<?php bfa_widget_area('name=My dynamic widget area'); ?>
…in the template. So I no longer even really need a sidebar. Styling my widgets to play nice with your awesome plugin is no problem – I’d just love to be able to stick that code at the top of the handler.

In reply to: [Atahualpa] Truncate (for lack of a better word) left sidebar?I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved – since this functionality would have more to do with the plugin than the theme.
After looking at the plugin, I see it wants its own rectangle to work in. I was thinking it would mold/form around an existing div (the sidebar) so I wanted to make the sidebar ‘end’ after its content – as opposed to spanning the entire height of the content.
What I need to do is figure out how to insert the sidebar into the first column, before the loop, which makes this more of a masonry concern and less of Atahualpa’s.
Thanks for the help either way!

In reply to: [Atahualpa] Truncate (for lack of a better word) left sidebar? No. I am familiar with Atahualpa’s aditional sidebar ares. I still want a left sidebar. I just want the post/page content to begin underneath it (and continue next to it) as opposed to beginning next to it, (which leaves a short or blank column alongside my content.
If you look at the link, you’ll see what I want visually (sort of) – only I didn’t achieve it with the functionality I’m trying to implement, but with a column of black and white images in a sidebar widget. I would like the sidebar to “end” after its content, so that the first column of my post/page content starts in the same place as those black and white images.
Though after further experimenting with the Cactus Masonry plugin, I am not sure this will work anyway

In reply to: [Atahualpa] Truncate (for lack of a better word) left sidebar? The only gap would be the same as in between each column. The content would start under the last widget, yes, with the same gap above as the gaps between the images in the other column.
Basically, I want the sidebar content to look the same as the images, regardless of how much I put there.
I think the way the plugin (Cactus Masonry) is written, I wouldn’t have to edit it – just the end of the sidebar coding.
Unless I’m overlooking something important.
Would it be possible to change the sidebar from its own column to just a div in the upper left?

In reply to: [Atahualpa] Truncate (for lack of a better word) left sidebar?A link might be helpful: https://officialKevinByrd.com
You can see the images on the left – they are there via widget. I’d like to maintain that functionality, but have the content begin directly underneath any sidebar content.
Malware? On my site, or on the Adfly link? I can assure you that my site is safe – a typical WordPress install. If you mean Adfly, I think you should be pretty safe as long as you avoid ALL links on the page except for the ‘skip ad’ in the upper right.
That said, I’ve been using Github a lot lately so here’s a 100% safe source with no ads or other bs: https://github.com/Teratoma/teratomic-paypal-button
What issues are you having with the price? The readme assumes you know how to set custom fields, is that the problem?

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsThe Nextscripts: Social Network Auto Poster has just been updated, presumably because of this issue.
It works, and also supports several other Social sites.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t auto-update posts that have been edited after their initial publishing.
I didn’t realize how much I’d miss Tumblrize!

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsYeah, they ask for login info. Not the best arrangement. Unless I find something else ultra useful there I only intend to use it until someone writes a new plugin.

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsBrentnau’s suggestion should provide a temporary solution. I was able to get it to function in about 3 minutes.
It doesn’t work retroactively though; all changes/edits must be done in WP and Tumblr.
Still, thanks for that, @brentnau – I’m checking out some of their other features now. Looks like some of them might also be useful.
Cheers!

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsThere we go – thanks Xictus. Apparently developers are going to have to comply with Tubmlr api v.2. Hopefully things can be patched up.

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsYeah, that’s what it’s looking like. Tumblr may have disabled the protocols that enable these plugins to work due to security risks, or any number of other reasons.
I poked around for a post from Tumblr but couldn’t find one.
