In reply to: Imbalance 2 – Centering the post titleSorry, I meant to post a link. The theme’s default has everything on the posts template aligned left. I have the social media buttons and footer info where I want them, but the post content and title – although aligned with each other – are inexplicably off to the right. I’d like everything centered.
I know this is really not a solution, just my two cents, but it looks like this part of the plugin hasn’t been developed yet. You’ve no doubt noticed the dropdown for image size doesn’t offer an actual choice, so I’m assuming this is still being worked on.
Sorry I can’t be of more assistance. Your code looks like it would work, if only the interface gave us a way to actually enter those values.
I’m making a post after this that will address this and other things I’d like to see – this plugin is really quite useful already and it looks like it’s being maintained/updated regularly.

In reply to: WPShower's "Imbalance 2" customizations@ledbelly – thanks for the help. Though what I’m trying to do is make the posts sticky when viewing category pages.
Your suggestion got me looking around though, and I found WP Category Sticky Posts Which has done the trick.
Thanks for your help!

In reply to: WPShower's "Imbalance 2" customizationsAlchymyth, your help is greatly appreciated! I am half-way there with goals. Manually inputting the excerpt will let me create a mock ‘sidebar’ or two, with information and/or links – with images and formatting pertinent to the category/board it’s included in.
“Making them sticky” can be accomplished by adjusting the date of the ‘sidebar’ posts every time I add something to a category. Not the ideal workaround, but for the amount of activity I’m anticipating it’s not that much extra work.
I do intend to figure these two out properly though, and when I do, I’ll return with the solutions. I spent the evening researching this and came to the conclusion that this isn’t necessarily theme-specific. A ton of people have started threads all over the durn innerwebs with various versions of what I think to be the same question:
How can I put [simple paypal shopping cart’s] shortcodes in [fill-in-the-blank]?
I found lots of discussion, but no solutions. My suspicion is that if these people are looking for a shopping cart, they’re willing to pay for another solution before spending all kinds of time trying to make free stuff work.
BUT NOT ME! I’ll keep track of this until I have something to update the thread with. For now I can get tons of use out of this spectacular theme (and spectacular WordPress!) while I try out different solutions. I’LL BE BACK!

In reply to: WPShower's "Imbalance 2" customizationsI tried using the_content() but it displays the images as full-sized. Is there a way I can edit the_excerpt() so that it maintains the thumbnail, but includes the text properties of the_content() ?
What about making stickies maintain their “top” position in category view?
Thanks!

In reply to: WPShower's "Imbalance 2" customizationsSorry if I broke the rules. I did post over there, but figured since it was a free theme I could find help here quicker.

In reply to: Image and text in blogroll (links)@macmanx, OP states “…it showed ONLY image, and that’s how I want it”. Wouldn’t un-checking “Show Link Image” produce the opposite of the effect he’s looking for?
I’m having the same issue – I think. I just started using the links widget, so I don’t know what it looked like before. I ONLY have “show link image” ticked (everything else is clear) but the “link name” displays anyway. If I remove the link name info, the widget displays the URL.
I am curious – when this widget worked properly, how did it lay out the icons? Were they stacked vertically or did they form a ‘grid’?
I would like mine to display flush up against each other on all sides, like a ‘mosaic’, but I’m having a hard time finding the code that determines how it displays.

In reply to: Static page template with nothing but the contenthttps://bored.kevinbyrd.co.cc/wordpress/images/random-images
My background is currently coming from my style sheet; can it be moved to the header?
I’d like to be able to specify the background with an inline command, but I’m not having any luck – it only creates a background for the content, with the css background in the back.

In reply to: Static page template with nothing but the contentOk, I figured out what needed to go in there. Is there a way to change the background? Ideally, I’d like this template to have no background, and to be able to specify the background on the individual pages somehow? Can this be done?

In reply to: Static page template with nothing but the contentCan you tell me what you mean here?
insert the loop per your code above…
I have everything in place, but now the page is showing no content at all, just my background (which I’d also like to change, if I can get this to work.) I realize that text I quoted should be removed, but it sounds like I’m missing whatever it is that goes in its place.

In reply to: Static page template with nothing but the contentWow! Thank you SO MUCH! I figured it would involve creating a separate header and/or footer, but such a thing is a little beyond my current skill set.
I’ll let you know how this works out after I set it up – I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to do this.

In reply to: Photo Upload crashing FireFoxI agree with thepatrickclan. Though it is possible that the issue was resolved with the recent update – or internally at Google.
I say this because I just re-installed and enabled Gears for my site and though I haven’t done any extensive tests, everything seems to be working.
Of course it worked fine before, ’til the day we all woke up to the fact that it had stopped.
Has this been addressed by anyone from WP? I suppose I could look.

In reply to: Upload new media crashing browserDid this issue actually get corrected? The reason I ask is that after updating to WordPress 2.8, I decided to re-enable Gears for my site. Then I created a new post and uploaded a pic with no problems. I then closed Firefox, re-opened it and edited the post, uploading another pic. Everything worked.
Now of course the original issue was that it worked fine for a while, then one day we all woke up one morning and our blawgz was all broken. Is this going to happen again?
I’m going to leave mine enabled – the thing is I have noticed an improvement in speed – so I’ll keep you updated.

I knew I must’ve been doing something dumb. Thank you so much! This has been extremely helpful!

In reply to: inove remove blog title header?Since posting here I’ve begun using Comicpress for a theme, so I no longer have that problem.
Thanks for posting anyway though. I’m just starting to understand certain elements of CSS like classes and IDs, so I found what you posted very helpful.
