Thanks @erikvona This was exactly what I was looking for. 0 did not work but 1 did. It moved the script much further to the top but not directly after the opening <head> so hopefully it will be high enough in the code for Google to find it. Fingers crossed.
The 2nd one I deactivated seems to have put things back into play. It is called Advanced Custom Fields Pro https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/
Weird thing is I deactivated it and then re-activated it because I do need it for other functions on the site and all the conditional logic is still staying there. Not really sure how that reset it somehow but I’ll take it.

In reply to: [Recent Posts Widget Extended] cat and tagIn the post menu under tag you will see all of your available tags listed. This plugin was set up to use the ID # instead of just the normal human read tag we’d typically use with some plugins.
If you hover over your 2012 tag in the list for a few seconds you will see in the left hand side of your browser a URL will appear. In that URL you will find a ID # for that tag or category. This is the number you need to use within your shortcode cat=”#” or tag=”#”

Go to Posts > Tags > hover over wanted tag to see ID # in lower left hand of browser window.

I’ve contacted their support and they think it is a problem with it reading their feed incorrectly. I’m not sure that is the case though.
