Also, since I’ve added new posts since the crash, I guess the URLs are no longer appearing in the same order. I thought if there was a way to edit them, I could do that, but there doesn’t seem to be.

Sadly, the backup from the server wasn’t current enough — I lost 2 months of posts, but have the cached files someone sent me via a Google search. I can copy and paste new posts, but I don’t know if/how I can have them point to the original URL (which at the moment are empty).

I have everything up to March 11th recovered, but anything after that date disappeared from the web.

Thanks for this. How hard would it have been to have some change in the icon that tells you you’re now out of text and into Word mode?

It took longer than expected, but I did hear from several subscribers that they did get the email. I never was able to subscribe myself, but it does seem to be working. Thanks for the help

Well, sad to report that after doing all of the above and uploading a new blog post this morning, I haven’t seen any notifications in either of the email accounts I used to subscribe. Sure wish I could pinpoint what was broken. Anyone heard about any issues using Yahoo as my host provider? I spent an hour on the phone with them yesterday, and they couldn’t find any reason why it shouldn’t be working.

After checking, I don’t understand why I need a “Page” on my blog. However, I’d be willing to create it but I don’t know how to put the token on the page itself. I’ve got similar functions on my website with newsletter and contact forms: see

and I’m willing to create something similar for my blog, but it’s not clear enough to me how to put the “token” you’re talking about onto the body of the page.

Thanks – I think I’ve done the first (and I’ve got Yahoo investigating it as well). I’m not sure what to do with a page, since this domain is a blog, and it’s all posts. Would creating a “subscribe to this blog” page that has nothing on it other than the Subscribe 2 token work? Right now, the plugin is on my sidebar.

This seems so extra-technical, since it did work before.

Follow up — I have been on the phone with the Help Desk at my hosting provider (for a long time) and they can’t seem to see why it’s not working. My email is listed as [email address removed]m which should be correct. They say I’m not flagged and nowhere near my limit of emails.

As I said, it used to work.

1. Changed this, but am not clear on the meaning. If 20 people subscribe to my blog, they each get one email, right? The ‘1’ means that the same notification email is sent to all my subscribers, but only one recipient is listed in the email “to” field.

2. Don’t really understand this one. Where do I check?

3, 4. Will do, although 30 subscribers hardly seems extreme.

5 Scares me to death; will ask my vacationing guru to deal with this when she returns.

Also, when I open the setting page for Subscribe2, I get a red box with You must to create a WordPress page for this plugin to work correctly. inside it. Does this mean that since my blog is all posts, not pages, things don’t work.

Blondie – I found the new feed, which was a little different from the previous one and updated it at the Networked Blog page. The difference was at the end of the URL … where it used to just have the blog address and /feed at the end, it now ends with ?/feed=rss2

But my blog images still don’t show up on my FB page.

I discovered that when my web designer changed the permalinks to the shorter variety, it changed the feed. So that problem is fixed. However, I still can’t get any of the images in my posts to show up.

Thanks — apparently it changed when I changed my permalink option. Didn’t know that would happen. Seems to be working.
