In reply to: [Web Stories] Webs Stories not loading after plugin updateHad a similar problem last update, but after troubleshooting it seemed to be a theme issue and it was throwing errors on the console.
This time the only error is the JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.3.2
Also note, I recently updated to the latest version of WP 5.7

In reply to: [Web Stories] Why Roseville, CA@swissspidy – yes, my apologies. I was treating this more as a general questions and conversation forum vs. a support forum.

In reply to: [Web Stories] Template animation options not available@luckynasan – so if I change, remove, etc the animation from a template object that has let’s say, ‘move’ animation on it, you can not change it back to ‘move’.
It’s almost like ‘move’ is simply not in the dropdown animation list.
Thank you for your insight. I will keep working.

In reply to: [Web Stories] Difference between Page Attachment and Link@luckynasan – thank you for this. Your guide is extremely helpful.
So, I’m sensing that the page attachment should not be used to send a user to another link outside the story? We should use the page attachment to send them to another story with more detailed information, yes?
The links should be used to send a user outside the story to an affiliate link for example.
Am I thinking correctly?

In reply to: [Web Stories] Listing for Stories, Templates, and Layouts missing@swissspidy – wanted to ask…since we discovered the issue (again my apologies), should I go back to the base Web Stores plugin or would you prefer that I keep the dev version installed?
Let me know,

In reply to: [Web Stories] Listing for Stories, Templates, and Layouts missing@swissspidy – found it! D to the AMM!
It’s my theme. I was disabling the plugins and each time the web stories panel would not show, then I thought, “hmm, the one thing while in troubleshooting mode, the theme gets set to twenty twenty one.” As I looked at the error from the console I noticed the first tripped error was the js was not getting the title data. It was null. So, I figured Web Stories is either pulling the title from the db, or from loop that gets all the posts and it wasn’t getting the title from the array.
So, while ‘not’ in troubleshooting mode, I switched the theme to twenty twenty one and then the stories panel works just fine.
We have a theme that was dev’d several years back and I’ve been meaning to replace but just afraid of all the hidden gotchas I’m sure I’ll experience and not looking forward.
Thank you again for all your help. My apologies for wasting your time on an issue that was not Web Stories related.

In reply to: [Web Stories] Listing for Stories, Templates, and Layouts missing@swissspidy – awesome…thank you for this and my apologies for the rabbit hole.
I’ll start my troubleshooting process and see if I can discover the offending plugin.

In reply to: [Web Stories] Listing for Stories, Templates, and Layouts missingComplete…I created a screenshot video of my entire process. I will say that after I enabled troubleshooting on the Web Stories plugin, everything worked.
It was very slow, but that may be because of the amount of data being collected in the troubleshooting process behind the scenes.
Here is the folder with the video and the json/txt file of the Network response.
I did have some weird results, but seemed to be isolated to the Chrome browser winder I was working with. You’ll see in the video that once I enabled teh ‘troubleshooting’ on the web stories plug, the theme was set at Twenty Twenty.
I did check in incognito and on my phone and it seems everything was fine for outside users in terms of browsing. It was just happening to me, but maybe that is how the Health plugin was designed.
Let me know if you find anything or if you need more data.

In reply to: [Web Stories] Listing for Stories, Templates, and Layouts missing@luckynasan – do you need me to keep the dev plugin installed or should I go back to published one? Does it matter?
I was about to create a couple new stories, but can wait if you need me to.
Let me know

In reply to: [Web Stories] Listing for Stories, Templates, and Layouts missingSounds good.
I’ve deleted the 1.3.0 and installed the dev plugin from the zip file you sent me.
Created a new folder ‘Web Stories Dev (Plugin)’ with 3 files in it:
1.) web stories dev – console errors data 1-22-2020a.txt
2.) web stories dev – network response data 1-22-2020a.txt
3.) Web Stories Dev Console and Network.mp4Let me know if it gives you what you wanted and needed.

One question. Will I lose all my stories?
