Frontier post does restrict users from seeing the categories when you exclude categories on the ‘Frontier Post Settings‘ page and on the ‘Frontier Post – Capabilities & Role based settings‘, you select multi select for Category Layout. For single select category layout option, the excluded categories are visible from the front end.

Test with single select category layout option after excluding a category and you observe what I am reporting. Why is this so?

SO long as a user can see and select a category, then he can post in that category. I have experienced that during my test!!
