The Chrome browser doesn’t have these issues so I think this would remove WordPress as the problem. Also I have the same problem on Ebay.com.

I deactivated all plugins and the problem still exists.
I switched the theme to Twenty Seventeen and the problem still exists.
Using the Firefox web console I see no errors.

Thanks for the suggestion. Posted the problem at Jetpack support. Jetpack supports the markdown function as a writing option.

I found the problem. When I use Chrome browser the oembed worked correctly. Firefox was the problem. When I reset Firefox the oembed starting working again.

I have the same problem with version 6.3.8. I use the Atahualpa theme. I get an error for footer.php and a header widget error but I don’t have a header widget.

Have you selected the header file name and location in the “Header Image” menu? Once you select the folder then upload the header image to that folder using FTP.

You should be able to connect to your WordPress site using FTP. A good FTP program is Filezilla. Be careful where you download it from though.

Who is your host? WordPress.com is not the same as self-hosted WordPress sites.

Can you access your files by FTP? If not then your host may be involved in some way.

What happens when you use one of the default themes?

On my website the link is at the bottom right and titled “Older Entries”.

Remove the extra images from the file on the server.

Using FTP look at the wp-config.php file. Also you might try re-installing the theme.

Did you follow the instructions on how to move a WP site in the WordPress Codex? It sounds like the Atahualpa theme config file has some settings from the old host.
