Thanks adiant. I’d read that tutorial but wasn’t sure why I’d want to set it up that way.

I’ll give that method a shot – seems cleaner than mixing non wp stuff directly in with wp stuff.

Oh no, I’m an idiot. I am not running noscript, but I am running Ghostery. It was blocking the WordPress and Google Analytics code.

I am not using the noscript plugin, google analytics js is working, as are jQuery and a few other .js files that I load in to my pages.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I’m happy to report that the switch took an hour or so and was mostly painless. I backed up my database and all site files before making the switch, just in case, but it turns out that I didn’t need any of those things.

In my initial testing, only my home page worked. Links to the blog or other static pages threw 404 errors.

To fix this, I first changed the name of index.php to index1.php. That didn’t fix things.

Second, I saved my Thesis settings. That also didn’t fix the problem.

So, third, I went into the WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks and saved my existing settings there. That did the trick, and it seems like everything’s in order now.

I’ll report back if I run in to any other problems.

Late to the party but I wanted to chime in and say that I have multiple domains and multiple wp installs (with permalinks) working on Godaddy IIS7 hosting as of about a week ago. My setup is very similar to the original poster’s.

I am considering switching over to Apache, anyway. So far, all of my plugins, themes and settings seem to work fine, but it appears that it’s only possible to use a subset of the functionality in some plugins (eg WP Super Cache) when hosted on IIS7.

I am not sure that I want to link every instance of ‘team’ on my site to my team page, so I don’t know if your plugin is exactly what I need.

In the meantime, I’ve found another plugin that seems pretty good and looks like it will meet my needs. I’ve installed it and am testing it out at the moment:
