@asbrown : can you explain a little how to install your fix? I am working on my first WP site and am in a pickle figuring the header image slider would easily link to separate pages. Ouch.
Any help is appreciated!

In reply to: Changing the footer in my twenty-eleven child themeIF you just want to make the ‘proudly powered by…’ dissappear – then all you have to do, I believe, is copy the following code into your styles.css:
#site-generator{display: none;}

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] Adding text in footerI do have a legitimate question regarding the menus I need to put in there.
At some point I need to figure out how to do SEO friendly URL’s in WordPress.
If I create a menu using the wordpress default links – will the links break when I convert to SEF Url’s?
(I come from a Joomla background and haven’t even begun looking at SEO items yet.)

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] Adding text in footerOpps… didn’t know anything about them! I will see what I can find!
How embarrassing. They are sitting right there. No wonder I’m the only person that asks! :^D

In reply to: Twenty Eleven – Percentages and Width Adjustments@zeaks – That would be cool. How does one find the “left” sidebar? I have no idea there was a layout like that in Twenty Eleven.
Thanks!

Take a bow. I struggled and struggled with this until I found your response above.
Zeaks – I apologize – but your tutorial had me pulling out my hair.
Probably because I am new to wordpress. But I did not see any “right” or “left” sidebar anywhere.
Thanks to both of you though. I appreciate all efforts!

In reply to: Can I delete tests posts and NOT have them archive? Thanks Rev! I really appreciate the quick response.
I have copied the Theme Unit Test link to save. What an excellent resource.
However – when I read it – it said it makes two menu. Twenty Eleven only is able to do one I think. Regardless – I will figure it out!
Thanks again!
I went back and reloaded and used “Enable Auto-Insert the Slider”.
I then reloaded the page and it works as before.
Now – I used firebug – and you are exactly right. The navigation is hidden.
The slider looks to be governed by a div of the class=”slider-wrapper theme-default”
I found the style in slider.css.php and added top-margin.
Poof – there it is.
My only question is – will that style be overwritten when the plugin is updated sometime in the future?
Is there a way to add that style to my child theme styles so it won’t be overwritten?
Thanks for the help by the way. That was very cool and extremely timely!
Hey, I’m new to WordPress, and I am stuck trying to get this plugin to work with Theme Twenty Eleven.
I uploaded it. And got it to work when I used “Enable Auto-Insert the Slider” —
But doing that made my menu disappear!
So then it says “Otherwise disable this and use the boom_header_image() template tag.“
But I can’t find ANY documentation that explains HOW to use that. No email for the developer.
So I am stuck. Can either of you help me out?

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] – Picking the right theme….Hey Esmi…
Already did that. Thanks!
Flipped code around in the header.php file of the child theme. It seems to be working out well.
It’s beautiful when the code pieces are as documented as they are – it makes things relatively easy.

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] – Picking the right theme….But Twenty Eleven IS customizable isn’t it? Or would moving an element like that – in a child theme – screw things up with theme updates?
