In reply to: Images To Editor-Sounds like the edit screen isn’t fully loading when you visit your site. Is it on a shared host? Can you try it again during non-peak hours?

In reply to: 2.3.2 problems with image uploadAre you entering a title for the images? The image upload required a title in order to get the correct link for your images. It’s something that I think the devs know about, but may not. Do a test image and make sure to put something in all the fields when you upload, and see if that works.

In reply to: Issue with <–more–> while postingUnfortunately IE tends to go a little crazy with the div tags. I’d suggest making the image that’s aligned left centered and trying that for a test run. I’ve never been happy with the way IE renders the image aligns combined with divs, sometimes it ignores the div boundaries completely

In reply to: Readers can’t leave commentsWhat errors are they getting, if any? Is the comment form showing up at all? Check the permissions on the posts they’re having trouble with by going to it’s edit screen, and seeing if commenting is permitted for that post

In reply to: Pre-filled comment form (keeping users signed in)Your quickest option would to be to copy over the original comments theme page to your new one. Then format it from there.

In reply to: php get footer adding spam code?I’ve been having this same problem, but only with me, it was some stray JS in the template’s header, so be sure to check your header.php template file for ugly unknown JS code. I have both google ads and project wonderful ads running on my site, and I’ve found the bad code within the advertising code. I compared the code that was listed on the advertising site to what was actually on my own site, and found a huge difference. I’ve had to make the template files read only to solve this. The only way that I was sure that I got rid of it was to load ‘noscript’ into firefox and go to the site. It was attempting to load some nefarious scripts from topae.info with the bad code.
I’m 99% certain that there’s either a WP bug or a plugin bug that’s causing the problems and permitting someone to edit the files on the server, injecting their spammy code.
I’m using 2.3.1, with a list of plugins as long as my arm, but I’m willing to provide a list if that would help.

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment pagethe trac system is a bit of a mess over there, I have no clue what I’m doing. Apparently that’s a bit of a wiki / ticket submission mashup? I think I did it right by reopening the 5080 ticket, but i’m not 100%

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment pageJust uploaded an image with no manually typed in title, and here’s the result, which is still not using the file name as the attachment title, and giving a loopy link, same as before.

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment pageUnfortunately, although they mentioned fixing it in the trac, it apparently is still happening. Any ideas anyone?

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment pageLooks like this bug is being taken care of in 2.3.1 :
https://trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/5080 and as such, I’m going to mark this as closed. Thank you for your help Otto42!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Admin Archive?I’d say your best bet is to mark the posts either private or as drafts, that way they’re either shown just to the admin and the author of the post(private) or they’re not shown at all (drafts) The only draw back to marking them drafts is that they’ll show up at the top of your ‘new post’ screen.
There is also a plug in that will limit who has access to certain cateogires : Category Access

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment pageOtto42, I could kiss ya! You’re right about the image title. The problem is when I don’t put in a title for the attached image. WordPress is apparently now trying to use the attachment number, which isn’t working as a link.
Previously, WordPress would apparently automatically use the file name as the title, as evidenced by the jpg in practically every post made under the old installation.
I guess I’ll be putting a title in for the time being, but I’d like to be able to just upload a file without putting in the title or description.

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment pageThose numbers in the ones that aren’t working are the attachment post number. The actual file that it should be using for the upskirt for scientist post is named upskirt.jpg. Just right clicking on the thumbnailed version and removing the ‘thumbnail’ from the image name will give you the original image.
The only thing I can think of is that the attachment.php template code needs to be changed, but I’m not able to find any information on 2.3 usage. Is there a repository of the new template requirements that I can go over?

In reply to: Attachment ‘link to page’ not linking to attachment page“The image page and the single post page are identical.”
That’s the problem. Previously, the ‘link to page’ option would link the image’s own page using the attachment.php page from the site’s theme. Now it’s just linking back to the original post, comments and all. Compare these two posts here and the way the image “link to page” option is treated:
Thank you Otto42! It means a lot that you’re willing to help on the support forums ??
