In reply to: Modern Geeks (moderngeeks.co.uk)Looks really good,it’s certainly dark though. I think you’ll find that you’re going to have some users who say it’s hard to read, users that don’t have their monitors adjusted properly or just crappy monitors in general. I used to have a similar theme and that’s what I heard. I think all you really need to do is change the content color, the color of the text in your entries – maybe even to just white. I wouldn’t put the ‘sociable’ plugin on your pages, just your posts – seems silly that someone would want to digg your contact form, just my opinion, sorry. ??
Just minor things, seriously, it looks really good. Good Luck with the blog, being a geek myself I’ll certainly keep checking it out!Forum: Your WordPress

In reply to: CoffeeChat WordPress Blog :)Love it, really well done. It’s easy to find information, the layout is fantastic, colors, images used very well. Ads are well-placed. Favorite part is the terminology/glossary section – is that a plugin?

In reply to: Background on sidebar widgets (Arclite theme)Fixed by the theme developer on his site.
Problem was a div that didn’t belong there (in the widget code) if anyone’s interested. Certainly nothing I would have ever figured out and that’s what is great about WP – plenty of help available out there if you have an issue.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Background on sidebar widgets (Arclite theme)Sorry, don’t know if we’re allowed to “bump” these but I still haven’t figured this one out and it’s driving me crazy.
I’ve tried:
.twitterwidget {background:none; background-image:none;}
but it didn’t do anything. That fix worked on my last theme where that widget had a similar issue but not here. I don’t know much about coding but I’m trying to learn as I go along.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Sidebar H2 is a link – where do I remove underline?Okay, sorry, I decided to change the theme this evening and I have a very similar problem.
Now, on my Flickr widget and Twitter Widgets on the right sidebar there seems to be some sort of background or background-image sticking out from that page-curl graphic on the title area of the box. I tried a similar fix for this issue as cais suggested yesterday but can’t get rid of it.

In reply to: Going crazy -is my site too boring??I don’t think it’s boring at all, certainly not the content – it’s a very cool personal blog. I think they’re getting the boring part from the white background but, as you say, it’s clean and nice. You have plenty of pictures with your entries to make it look good.
I would have the text on the sidebar and in the navbar change color on hover rather than be underlined but that’s my personal taste.
Overall it’s quite good in my opinion, very interesting, very well done.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: My News Site Needs ReviewsMore pictures yes, I think I’d like to see some mouseover effects on the titles of each entry (maybe to the same orange color in your RSS icon) and I’m a firm believer that external links should open in a new window whenever possible – I don’t like my visitors being taken away from my site – too easy for them to forget to come back and get distracted.

In reply to: My weblog/music siteReally a fantastic job on the theme – very cool. I like the green bar underneath your thumbnails on mouseovers especially. Colors and fonts are spot on for such a dark background. Your site logo should be a link back to Home in my opinion though. When I look at an archive by category there’s a couple weird characters in the header area. Well done.

In reply to: NEXTGEN Gallery – add image to piclens link instead of textDefinitely a good idea. I too am concerned that my visitors won’t use the “View with PicLens” option. For now, I put a little FAQ on the site about it, doubt anyone will read it though ?? – my readers are mostly family members who can’t spell the word “blog”.
