    Thank you, Jen.

This is still an issue. It only happens when I use PressThis to bring an image into the Media Library when I create a post. Somehow it adds -1 to the image file name. I wish I could figure it out because in all these months I have a lot of images doubled.

Thanks David. I will load them up.

Good luck with it. I had a look to see what it was earlier. I always see what other plugins or themes developers have. (Even the really old and forgotten ones).

    Thanks David.

Sorry I didn’t check back again sooner. I had a plugin for WordPress which seemed to work and had a nice pop up window with the categories included too. Very handy. It was an old plugin, years abandoned. I thought it worked but it did everything except actually add the link.

I also had the bookmarklet through the Link Library plugin which I had been using. That still works, even with the sites I uninstalled the plugin from. So for now I will use that. I’d be glad to have the bookmarklet with the Restore plugin so I know the code will keep updated with whatever changes come along for WordPress.

To someone who knows code it must sound kind of silly/ stupid even. But, I haven’t gone far beyond basic HTML and I usually need a source to make sure I don’t forget a character or three.

    Forgot to add…

I don’t know why, but I could not batch upload my txt files in a zip file. All the files had an error and were file not found. But, when I uploaded each txt file individually it worked great.

Me too. I’d like to see what it looks like and how it will work before I upload it. Sounds good but I don’t even know if it will work with text files, etc.

    No, it doesn’t.

I use PressThis to post links into blog posts. I’ve been using it for years so I do know it’s in Tools.

I would like to use the Link Manager (restored) to add links to my links/ blogroll (not posts). I had a bookmarklet for this but it doesn’t work with my Chrome or Firefox web browser now.

I’ve been having this same issue. I think it has something to do with the way the images are linked in the code of the post. Seems it imports two images in order to show one in the post.

Hope someone has an idea for this and a way to get rid of the extra images in the library without mucking up all the posts.

Scroll down. There is an option for that when you set up the feed.

    Thanks for your reply.

They could add this to the JetPack mobile plugin so it could work with something already existing. I will read the links you sent and see what is being discussed.

I do hope there is an option about having all the extra images sizes in each post. It was a mess to clean up and did not help with load time.

Kept working on it and I think I figured it out. A plugin had added code to my thaccess files. I took out that code and now the archives are working on the sites I have check so far.

    This was the code:

    RedirectMatch 301 ^/([0-9]{4})/([0-9]{2})/(.*)$ https://mydomain.com/$3

I’d delete this but there isn’t an option for that.

Try a screenshot. The link goes to your admin section and no one will be able to see it but yourself.

Thanks Eric. I’ll do that. I run the same theme on all my sites and this is the only one having problems. I use GeneratePress (made in Vancouver, BC) and the support is very good and quick to reply back, like yourself. He suggested the debug.

Doesn’t seem fair to review it so low just for a lack of free support. How long do you think developers will continue adding time and energy for free if they get told off when they limit the free support they donate? I thought leaving this forum for people to help each other was a good idea.

WordPress is free because people are making money from it in other ways. The days of the free Internet are gone.

Plugin developers create free or free versions so people can still use WordPress, with a lot of great options and features, freely.

I do pay for some of the plugins and themes I use as well. I’m careful about choosing which plugins I support because I do have a tiny budget and my sites don’t make money. I pay when I can because I want to support WordPress and the developers. I also leave reviews for plugins which worked great and I try to only leave constructive feedback when something doesn’t work for me. This is also supporting WordPress in ways which only cost me a little time but can add back and help developers too.

WordPress theme and plugin developers won’t keep coming back if they don’t get the very support from us which we hope to find from them. To leave a comment like yours is not going to work out well for the WordPress community in the long run. How long will the community spirit and generousity last if the WordPress community slams them for not doing enough? It’s not for you to decide how much they contribute to WordPress. Just as it’s not up to anyone else how much you do or do not pay for plugins and themes. We have the freedom to choose our options – because we still have the options.
