Hmm, ok! I did have the outbound clicks thing checked so I unchecked that. Comments still acted funny. I then deactivated the Google Analytics plugin and still got the problem. Maybe it’s one of the other plugins? I’m not sure since this seemed to break directly after I upgraded WPPA (and nothing else)

I’ll keep checking.

To clarify – it looks like linking to a photo from the recent comments widgets is what is causing the break. Going to a photo via the gallery links seems fine but a direct link from the comments widget seems to cause the page to go down.

Regarding the new download – Awesome – will do.

I was wondering about the solution you came up with. Was the .zip format a response to not being able to create a download dialog for the .jpg? I notice when I set it to jpg it opens up a separate window with the correctly named photo which I then have to right click download. When I set it to .zip it just does the download dialog.

Not a huge deal since the .zip gives me the download but I was curious if downloading the .jpg could happen directly.

I do agree with your top solution about saving the file directly versus forcing an ‘open’ state. I am definitely after the solution that saves the file.

Hmmm so this is what I was thinking and correct me if I’m simplifying too much.

Normal situation:
Person right clicks on image and selects ‘save as’
Save box pops up and gives the player the option to save the image as the file name.

New situation:
Person clicks the new ‘magic save’ button
Somehow the magic button inserts the gallery name of the image into the save dialog box right at that moment.

What I was thinking was that the save box somehow constructs the name from variables you are giving it and you could simply drop that gallery name in. I don’t actually know if that’s the case or it’s that simple.

With the solution you are trying are you basically copying the old file on the server to a new location, giving it a new name and *then* downloading that file? That would work too. I guess I’m getting caught up in the fact I can actually rename the file manually at the point of saving it so I am assuming it is somehow easy to drop in another name. I realize that could be a huge incorrect assumption.

I tried the above code and it just crashed my site. I didn’t have a lot of time to note the debug problems since I reverted the site back to pre-cube point code and all was well.

My guess is I put the code in incorrectly but I am hesitant to try since testing it involves dumping the code on my site and potentially bringing it down if I make a mistake.

I’d like to keep trying if you have any suggestions!
