Arnan,
What’s most obnoxious is the flyout every single time the plugin updates…yeah, we get it, there’s a paid version available…jeez, how many times you have to nag people with it??
A note — even a huge flashy graphic — on the plugin’s settings screen is enough, no need to have a flyout blocking workspace visuals unless one clicks “dismiss”…for your reference, the “Floating Social Media Icon” plugin from Acurax also heavily promotes its paid version, but at least there’s an option to disable the “main” (outside its own settings page) nag — and it’s not a flyout that blocks the view!
It’s a shame you don’t understand this simple aspect of modern UX.

In reply to: [Advanced Ads –?Ad Manager & AdSense] Not WorkingHi,
Honestly, it looks like user error at this point…I can’t replicate my original situation, either, now — probably got confused, that’s all!!
SORRY FOR THE BOTHER!!!

In reply to: Innocuous "Hang-Up" When UpdatingAh, thanks for the clarification. Guess I’m the only one experiencing update-hangups??
Just confirmed this weirdness on another three sites….

In reply to: [Ad Blocking Detector] Used to Work with the "Advanced Ads" PluginNEVER MIND: USER ERROR — I’d been testing with too many instances of Google AdSense; officially only three are allowed per webpage (though I’d gotten up to five to show up on occasion!)….
Sorry for the bother!!!

In reply to: "Remember Me" CheckboxHmmm, well, it’s like that on all the different computers I use, at work or my own at home — no matter the browser, too…do you mean to say that the WordPress login screen’s “remember me” check-box actually works for you??

In reply to: [Advanced Ads –?Ad Manager & AdSense] Rotation of Ads?Ah, yes, of course — sorry, forgot!

In reply to: [Advanced Ads –?Ad Manager & AdSense] Not WorkingHi there, thanks for that shortcode — it works!
Though…there’s a bit of a “quirk”…when the popular Adblock Plus browser plugin/extension is turned on for a site, only the first instance of WordPress’ native “Text” widget is displayed!
Thus, with an adblocker off, any number of text widgets with the “Advanced Ads” shortcode are displayed, but with an adblocker on, only the first such widget gets output at all.
Moreover, only the first shortcode within that first widget (if the widget’s got more than one shortcode) is output!
So…here’s hoping for a native “Advanced Ads” widget soon! ??
Excellent! Really looking forward to your “anti-adblocker” features…you could even make it a Pro version exclusive, of course — I’d buy that!!
Thank you for being so gracious in response to my quibbling, and of course thank you very much for putting the effort into sharing your work, this plugin, and caring enough to support it. ??
Well, that should be explained, then, in documentation somewhere…otherwise it looks like a blank page on a website, you know?
Anyway, I’ve now updated this plugin to three stars — seems to do the job well enough on one site (with the added bonus that it ain’t detected by any browser ad blockers yet), though on another of mine it doesn’t seem to work…I’ll post on the Support Page.

In reply to: [Ad King Pro] Secret Bonus…Erm…actually, YMMV: with ElegantThemes’ “Evolution” theme no ads were disabled but in CSSIgniter’s “Glare” theme everything behaves normally (i.e., ads are disabled)….

In reply to: [This Day In History] MehI didn’t complain about a limit — I was talking about a maximum: “can’t display just one factoid per day”…the idea is that there would be a bunch of facts for, say, August First, but the plugin would randomly select just one to output for any given visitor.
And not displaying ancient dates severely limits the point of such a plugin. Surely an algorithm for computing them is a fairly elementary intellectual exercise for a coder! Make a Pro version if you must (I’d buy it — I’d already donated US$10 for the relatively simple “Ad Blocking Detector” by John Morris), but these two features seem fundamental to this kind of a plugin.

In reply to: [Sucuri Security - Website Firewall (CloudProxy)] Deceptive: not freeI don’t get it. I thought plugins here were supposed to be free. As in, work without payment, meaning “core” features work for free.
But this plugin doesn’t work at all without a subscription??
This, after finding out about another plugin (AdRotate) that’s stripped functionality previously available in its free version in order to sell the premium paid-for version.
Is WordPress getting too mainstream for its own good??

In reply to: [Ad Injection] Ads blocked by adinjwidget class nameHey, Esmi,
What are the terms & conditions under which a plugin — namely, this one — may be “adopted” or “taken over” for further development by another party??
Looks like this author’s MIA and this wonderful plugin will be abandonware in another few iterations of WordPress core…so how may folks take over a plugin or maybe “fork” it, if possible?
