In reply to: Images I upload are blurryit will either be because you don’t have a high enough resolution uploaded or you are trying to display one of the smaller versions of the uplaoded image at a larger size.
try again with a large, hi-res image and then post the url of the image here (right click on the image and copy its location and full name)

In reply to: PHP Fatal error: Failed opening required filehave you tried updating php? looks like you might be on version 7.2 and there are version 8.X. it’s not a wordpress option but rather an option at your hosting company’s side, perhaps in CPANEL.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] incompatability with GN Publisher plugindisabling all 10 seems to work.
it was tricky to identify which specific one was the cause as i couldnt individually test as my browser seemed to retain old redirects

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] incompatability with GN Publisher pluginneither of those yoast product were active and that is why it worked when you looked !
I have just this second enabled the free version of toast (and nothing else) and you will see that the /gn feed mentioned above now redirects incorrectly to https://the5krunner.com/category/news/
note these settings please:
- Show categories in search results: disabled
- Show the categories prefix in the slug: enabled
- Show tags in search results: disabled
- Remove category feeds: enabled
- Remove tag feeds: enabled
thank you for any help!!

In reply to: [AMP] Google AMP disables WordPress outbound click statshow does that help with incorrect execution of www.ads-software.com’s wpstats? which i think is what records outbound clicks in the native wordpress stats. (I’m not talking about google analytics)
More info:
So, my outbound clicks are not showing. If i disable the AMPplugin (you know the standard google one that google and wordpress want you to use) then the outbound clicks are ok.
also on my other site i noted that disabling the same AMP plugin is REQUIRED by google adwords to enable bids optimised for conversions.
basically, the AMP plugin stops quite a few JS scripts from ever executing and that is what is messing up a LOT of other stuff
yes this is a yoast bug and they have this workaround:
Hey @the5krunner, Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out! Yoast SEO by default removes ?replytocom variables from URLs (more info about this feature on this link). This can be reversed by adding the following filter to your theme’s functions.php file (or custom plugin):
add_filter( ‘wpseo_remove_reply_to_com’, ‘__return_false’ );

js is deferred. always has been.
i’ve never tried delayed.hmm
if i disabled the free version of yoast then indenting worksi have that setting change runnins for a day or so and it doesn’t look any different. ie zero (or one or two) clicks being recorded.
there should be hundreds per day
apparently, www.ads-software.com does not support CATEGORY and TAG stats. wordpress.com does.
could your workaround fix my ‘no outbound clicks recorded’ problem ?
hi
no they’re not new categories. i can see they’re cranking up the views/hits on google analytics as i write (and have been for months)I use that URL as a menu link and i discovered a convoluted way to make it the amp home page on mobile (this forces a better homepage on mobile on my theme)
I’m not even sure if WordPress counts categories as hits/views – this suggests they should be counted https://wordpress.com/support/stats/
