In reply to: Problem moving WordPress site to document rootI think I get your question. When I installed WordPress I did all the work in the sgwp folder then yesterday (when I finished the work) I changed the site urls when I wanted to move it to the root directory.

In reply to: Problem moving WordPress site to document rootNot sure I’m understanding your question. I changed the site urls when I was attempting to replace the current site with a new WordPress site. Moving the WP site to the root directory has not been successful and currently the WP site (in Settings) is pointing to the existing site. I’d like to change that to point back to the “sgwp” folder but can’t login to my WP site.
Hope that makes sense.

In reply to: Problem moving WordPress site to document rootI manually reset, but I’m still not getting in. When I try to login, I get a 404 Error.
Also, still getting non styled looking pages. The login page, WP page, all looks like Time New Roman basic HTML.

In reply to: Problem moving WordPress site to document rootOkay, I tried it all again and now my WordPress site is screwed up worse than before. I get a “Page not found” prompt and it looks like a raw site stripped of its CSS, etc.
HELP!
My site is https://www.smithgun.com/sgwp
After the site wouldn’t move to the root directory and I received error messages I uploaded the backups to try and restore the site.

In reply to: Troubleshooting wp-admin Redirect LoopI’m wondering if that’s the issue. I can probably do it via cPanel? Right now I don’t have ftp access to the server.

In reply to: Troubleshooting wp-admin Redirect LoopSeems to be an issue with the Dashboard, as I can’t log into that with https://www.sitename.com/wp-admin but can with https://www.sitename.com/themes.php for example.

In reply to: Troubleshooting wp-admin Redirect LoopShould I change back my site path? Leave it alone?
Can I log out and be okay?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Troubleshooting wp-admin Redirect LoopOkay, this is weird. I just got in to the Dashboard via a blog page on the site. Any suggestions as to what I can do from here to make sure I can login from wp-admin?
It’s almost as if I was never logged out, but trying to login again blocked me. However, there’s got to be something I can do to make sure I don’t get this redirect issue again.

In reply to: Troubleshooting wp-admin Redirect LoopWell, the thing is I can’t login to undo anything–right now I can only see the WP site via cPanel on this site’s server.
I’m waiting for response from the server’s administrator about ftp info anyway (so that i can get into the site another way besides cPanel). I was hoping to solve some things on my own.
Isn’t there something about replacing the .htaccess file?
