In reply to: [reCAPTCHA for bbPress] v2 doesn’t appear on form after activationNo. It is on an active site, and we simply decided to remove that forum registration form from the site and require new users to use our main contact form to request access instead so that I can manually control who is added as a new user. This has completely stopped attempts by bots and other bad actors to gain access to our forums, which was our goal anyway. As 99% of new registrations now are illegitimate, it is not that much of a hassle to add one or two new legit users per month. Thanks anyway.

In reply to: [wp-forecast] Plugin not saving longitude and latitudeOK. That worked…sort of. It didn’t find the lake, but it did find the city right next to it. It doesn’t look as mobile friendly as I would like, as I was hoping for something more icon driven, like WeatherUnderground used to be, but this will do for now. I appreciate the fast feedback and help. Thanks.

In reply to: [wp-forecast] Plugin not saving longitude and latitudeThis is still not working. I removed the location and it actually did save the longitude and latitude, but it still shows as “Failure notice from provider: Location does not exist.” Clearly the location does exist.
Please see the setup page here for the plugin: WP-Forecast plugin setup
What am I still missing?

In reply to: [bbPress Notify (No-Spam)] Not getting notifications to Gmail accountsSorry, but this is not actually resolved.
However, I was able to bypass these issues simply by a) requiring that any users on this forum not use a generic email address (especially a Gmail account, but use their actual company work email addresses instead), and b) telling them that there may be an issue the first time they login after registration if they are using Chrome as their browser, and explaining that they could use the link in the site footer to get back to the forum home page or by bookmarking it prior to registration.
I’m not going to spend any further time installing additional plugins or setup other mail services just to find out if maybe it can tell me why it isn’t working correctly with Google products. Knowing what is causing the issue doesn’t really provide me with a solution if I’m not the app developer.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] reCaptcha v3 only? >> no way!I agree. I can no longer tell if it is actually working or not, even though it shows it on my website…on every page…on top of my footer content. Not sure what genius at Google thought this was better, but it isn’t. Also, since last week now, I am getting hit with bot emails again.
Is there a good option out there other than reCaptcha v3? Any reliable options from anyone else?

In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Created custom menu, doesn’t work at allOK. Client decided to switch themes, which also moved us from Cherry4 to Cherry5, and now your plugin works. I made no changes at all to your plugin, but as soon as I swapped themes, it appeared and works perfectly.
Interestingly though, when your scrolling nav menu appears on the page, the color scheme is inverted from the original nav menu setup on the site.
Any idea why that would happen or how to remedy it? I see no such options for color scheme settings in your plugin, but I find it strange that it would use the inverted color scheme instead of the one already set to the main nav menu.
Any help would be appreciated.

In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Created custom menu, doesn’t work at all1) Where do you create the elements that can be selected in your plugin?
2) Does your plugin look at existing theme elements, such as existing menus?
3) If yes, how does your plugin know the formatting of existing theme elements? My issue is that I have existing theme elements such as default and custom menus, but when I enter them in your plugin, they do not appear at all.
The only other non-default WP plugin I have installed is a “coming soon” screen, that does not appear when I am logged in as an admin. Therefore, it should not be interfering with your plugin when previewing pages and posts. Yet, I still cannot see your plugin doing anything. If it did something, anything, I could then edit it to do what I needed, which is create a nav menu that always appears at the top of the browser screen and scrolls down with the user. That’s all I want.

In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Created custom menu, doesn’t work at allThe only other plugin I currently have installed is a simple “coming soon” screen, which would make it impossible for you to actually see the real site if I give you a link. All other plugins installed came with the theme or with Cherry Framework, and are your normal WP default fare.
I suppose that I could try it with the coming soon plugin off, but when you are logged in as the WP admin, you can see the live pages anyway. The various theme menus all seem to work correctly, I just don’t like the way it is setup. The default theme menu shows up as a text-only block to the right of the logo, and then as you scroll, it becomes a horizontal bar across the top of the page. All I really want is a way to make that horizontal menu the permanent menu all of the time, not just during scrolling.
That said, since there is no way to build a custom element in your plugin, I assumed that it had to work with the menu settings in the theme, or with other plugins anyway. Is that not so?
If not, then where does it get its settings (color, font, size, links, etc.) for selected elements?
