I have the same problem. Someone who is not an admin can still create an admin user.
I have create Users and Promote users ticked, but if I don’t tick Promote users, the non admin user can’t choose any user role at all.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Breadcrumbs linking to “localhost”Thanks for your fast answer. Unfortunately this did not solve my problem either but I can see that the new wp_yoast_indexable table already has the wrong links, the permalink in this table is already the wrong one : it says localhost in stead of (in my case) localhost:8888. So it must definitely be a bug introduced with the new indexable functionality.
Here’s hoping Yoast will fix this soon @mikes41720, @pcosta88? Thanks again!

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Breadcrumbs linking to “localhost”@zoladesigners – did you solve this problem somehow? I have the exact same problem with Yoast version 14.2. Parts of the breadcrumb link back to localhost in stead of localhost:8888 in my local development environment.
Thanks,

In reply to: Simple Tags can’t work with WordPress 2.9 RCA big thank you to bgunnink, works like a charm!
In what file do I need to change this? I get the exact same error …
I have the feeling there is a conflict between Simple Tags and another plugin, as Simple Tags seems to work fine on another blog I have (both running WP 2.7)
Update: OK figured out to change this in simple-tags.admin.php in the 2.7/inc directory. But making this change does not solve my problem unfortunately. Any other ideas?
I still get the “This feature works only with activated JavaScript. Activate it in your Web browser so you can!” both in Click Tags and in Suggested Tags.

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.3.2 loads of problemsOK, thanks for trying anyway.
I will manually import my Categories I think. As the rest is running OK, and I don’t want to risk running into more problems.
Thanks for giving it a go.

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.3.2 loads of problemsHello
I upgraded from 2.1 to 2.3.2.
My webserver is running Linux.
I did get some errors, one of them saying “wp_categories” not found.
I do have a backup of my db.
My permalink problem is due to Pages no longer being Pages. they somehow have changed into regular posts. As I didn’t have that many, I manually changed that back, so that problem is solved.
The biggest issue I have now is:
all my categories are gone
and the links between posts and categories are therefor gone too.Let me know if you need more info. ??
(I have never before had any upgrade problems, have been running WP for a long time!)

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.3.2 loads of problemsMarty – you need to update the wp-config.php file with your db server info. Sounds like that is your problem.

In reply to: Import feeds into my databaseThey can’t ping, they provide feeds which is the only way to get the info. Binarybonsai.com has the same problem. His feeds don’t get imported. I guess nobody has tackled this yet, I give up and wait a while. I am sure the lifestream thing is going to spread.

In reply to: Import feeds into my databaseA seperate table would be fine. And when you talk about “the importer” do you mean Feedwordpress?
A lifestream is a page that reads all your (jaiku, twitter, flickr, cocomments, last.fm, your weblog feeds) feeds and displays them on a page.
Examples:
https://www.thegirlinthecafe.com/lifestream
or
https://binarybonsai.com/about/lifestreamThe problem is that services like Jaiku and Last.fm always only display the last 10 items, which is why I would like to import them, to keep them in an archive.

In reply to: Comment whitelist? Thanks for the answers guys. (No the Admin must approve all comments” is not ticked, as most comments do get through).
I guess we have to wait for Akismet to add the local whitelist option standard. But I’ll have a look at the link you gave me Charle97.
Thanks again!!
