I would consider this a bug in the plug-in. Not necessarily because it wants a certain execution time, but because the message doesn’t tell you what to increase it *to*. I set it to 3600 and it *still* complains!

I personally think using x-acronym or some other custom element would be better. I did a %s/acronym/x-acronym/g in vim on text-hover.js and text-hover.php and it had the desired effect. There really isn’t an element defined in html or html5 that indicates what we’re accomplishing here.

It was a plugin called “WPaudio” that seemed to break it. I disabled it and all was well. What insanity!

Oops, sorry, follow-up. I also employed another plugin called “Force User Login Multisite” which completed the trick!

About 4 months ago I implemented what was shown in the link you mentioned above and it did the trick. Just modify the members-only.php as discussed in the article. It’s a bummer-of-a-solution, but the plugin hasn’t been updated in 4 years so I think the author must have abandoned it.
