    That worked great!

    Thank you.

    Thank you, Tom for your reply.

    In my current menu modification, I have done away with slide-out menus, going to a grid layout (at least on the browser computer version it appears that way). The top item on the menu does reveal the grid layout.

    However, within that grid, I have created sub-categories. Those do not have a link. It is the items below that are linked.

    In this case, the hover does nothing other than become highlighted. The sub-menus are already visible below. I am afraid that people will think that the subcategory title is supposed to be an active link.

    I am looking for the top line to be nothing more than a passive category title. So far, the only thing I have been able to do is to remove the link to a page, then rename it to be what I want for the title. But I am afraid that the ‘hover turns it green’ will lead people to think that category link is broken.

    Luckily, the ‘glove’ only appears on the clickable links. But the hover color still changes on titles where the link has been removed.

    Thank you.

    Problem solved.

    The plug-in support said:

    “If you have an error while saving, almost surely is a provider filter blocking the kind of content you’re saving. Ask them for such a filter, could be by mod_secure.”

    I contacted the web hosting tech support. They told me:

    “…..effectively your IP was being
    blocked by mod-security. I whitelisted the rules and ran a config on the
    Apache service to refresh the server. The changes have been enforced.”

    Not sure why my IP was being blocked, and why this was the only issue I was having, but it all works now.

    Thanks for your help.

    I am having the same issue. Used for years. Now getting an internal server error.

    I am trying to get the server error log. It is not easy for those of us with shared hosting.

    Mine only occurs when I include a Javascript for a map.

    For now, I have manually edited the template.

    Here is the Javascript:

    `<!– Javascript for map –>

    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js”></script&gt;
    <script type=”text/javascript”>
    $(document).ready(function () {
    $(‘#nav > li > a’).hover(function(){
    if ($(this).attr(‘class’) != ‘active’){
    $(‘#nav li ul’).slideUp();
    $(this).next().slideToggle();
    $(‘#nav li a’).removeClass(‘active’);
    $(this).addClass(‘active’);
    }
    });
    });
    function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0
    var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc;
    }
    function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01
    var p,i,x; if(!d) d=document; if((p=n.indexOf(“?”))>0&&parent.frames.length) {
    d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);}
    if(!(x=d[n])&&d.all) x=d.all[n]; for (i=0;!x&&i<d.forms.length;i++) x=d.forms[i][n];
    for(i=0;!x&&d.layers&&i<d.layers.length;i++) x=MM_findObj(n,d.layers[i].document);
    if(!x && d.getElementById) x=d.getElementById(n); return x;
    }

    function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0
    var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3)
    if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];}
    }
    </script>

    Thanks. I figured I would have to repeat the process with every update. So I kept the header info so I could just copy and paste.

    I will follow up with the plug-in developer though.

    I decided to go into the Theme and edit the header.php directly. I inserted the header into the Theme header.php and now the JavaScript is working properly and there are no errors.

    Not sure why I was getting the ‘Internal Service Error’ while using the plugin ‘Head, Footer and Post Injections’ for the exact same Javascript, but the map is now working properly on all my pages.

    Thank you for your help.

    Thank you for your response.

    I use the plugin ‘Head, Footer and Post Injections’.
    https://www.satollo.net/plugins/header-footer

    I believe I also tried another plugin with the same result, but I am not sure which one it was.

    I will look into the error log post what I see. And read through the debugging link you provided.

    I just upgraded to PHP 5.6.30 and WordPress to 5.4.1. All my old sliders have disappeared from the pages. They are still in the Plugin. When I click on Recover Old Sliders, I get the following errors:

    Warning: base64_decode() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home1/orcalcoa/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-responsive-image-slider/recover-slider.php on line 28

    Warning: base64_decode() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home1/orcalcoa/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-responsive-image-slider/recover-slider.php on line 29

    It appears to me that I am going to have to go back and redo each slider and re-select the pictures. I wish I knew which ones I had selected.

    With a lack of suggestions, I have taken to manually changing the code for every download link to include the ‘download=”[name here]” ‘ code for the kml and gpx files. For example:

    [a href=”/gps/McKinley Mine Trail.kmz” rel=”noopener” download=”McKinley Mine Trail.kmz”]kmz[/a] works just fine (substitute < in for [ and you get the code).

    For the PDF file, I had to use a slightly different code:

    [a href=”https://orcalcoast.com/hiking/rogue_river_walk.pdf&#8221; rel=”noopener” download=”rogueriverwalk.pdf”]download this PDF[/a] For some reason, using the relative location did not work, so I had to use the complete URL. If I used the relative URL of /hiking/rogue_river_walk.pdf, the PDF would download, but when displayed, I got a ‘corrupted’ file response.

    Obviously, this is a pain. There should be some other way to do it.

    Using the Media Uploader would simplify the PDF link and download. But the Media Uploader will not accept the GPS files (kmz and gpx) due to ‘security reasons’.

    Here is the link in the page with the PDF as it appears:

    ../hiking/oregon_coast_trail_map_to_brookings.pdf

    There is not a “index.php” in the link as inserted into the page. The “text” code (which looks like old school HTML) is as follows:

    “Download a [a href=”../hiking/oregon_coast_trail_map_to_brookings.pdf” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”]PDF map of the hike.[/a]”

    Sub greater than and less than for the brackets to get the code.

    In this case, I did not upload the PDF into the Media Library. It is a leftover file from my former HTML website prior to converting to WordPress. It is located in the subdirectory /hiking/ and the file name is exactly as it appears in the link above.

    I have tried putting the link in exactly as ‘aCstudent’ suggested, including the “https://orcalcoast.com&#8221;. When I do so, WordPress deletes that portion of the link and substitutes “../” for the beginning of the link – which should be just fine.

    Here is a case of a PDF file that will not download on the live page – it tries to open a new webpage rather than download a file. But it will download the PDF when I check the link in the editor.

    Not sure if I can upload a PDF via the Media uploader.

    Note that the first two GPX and KMZ links seem to work because I have included the download command. But the next two links, further down on the page do not as the link tries to open a new webpage.

    Why 5 stars and then a negative review?
