In reply to: [Slider Carousel - Image Slider] Image Size“Please when you are going to upload images select the size other one except full size, then select again full size. It will help you to solve your problem. Our team is trying to find a way to solve it. But I said you the way to make it manually. On our next version that problem will be solved.”
I wish I had known that. When I could not find the link to 1.3.0, I gave up on the product.
Best of luck to you. I hope you solve the bug.

In reply to: [Slider Carousel - Image Slider] Image Size“But please when you are adding the image into the slider make sure that you added correct size of the image into the slider.”
I selected “Full Size 500×300”.

Please scroll down to look at the screen shots of what I did and tell me what I did incorrectly.
As you can see from the screen shot, I selected full size 500×300. Yet the link that is inserted into the Photo Slider is the link to the thumbnail. Perhaps I am doing something stupid. But if I am, I an unable to figure out what, since I selected the full sized, not the thumbnail.
Please tell me how to keep that from happening. If not, how to edit the link so I can link it to the full sized image. Or better yet, allow me to load the image directly from my hard drive to the Photo Slider plugin.
What I am doing wrong?

In reply to: [Slider Carousel - Image Slider] Image SizeI have even tried to edit the URL in the Photo Slider dashboard to https://orcalcoast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/1.jpg, but it will not let me. Photo Slider insists on using the thumbnail, even when I select full size in the WordPress Media Library.

In reply to: [Slider Carousel - Image Slider] Image Size“Please don’t edit the image”
That is exactly the issue. I have not edited the photos at all. I just dragged them into the WordPress Media Library as they were, 500×300. I then went into the Photo Slider dashboard. I selected ‘Add Image’ and was put into the WordPress Media Library. I selected my image and Full Size, 500×300. But when the image was brought into the Photo Slider, they were imported into as thumbnails. Please take a moment and look at the sample page I posted. I included screen shots of exactly what I did.

In reply to: [Slider Carousel - Image Slider] Image SizeI took down the slide show, because it looked so terrible. I wish I could send you screen shots so you can see what I did on loading the pictures.
I have now tried to create another slide show. I uploaded 5 photos which were originally 500×300. They all loaded with ‘Full Size 500×300’ selected. A photo, when checked in the list, is listed as https://orcalcoast.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/1-150×150.jpg.
When the slider is started, the 150×150 thumbnail is stretched and blurred into the larger slider.
Here is my test page. Please let me know when you have viewed it so I can take it off of my site.
https://orcalcoast.com/index.php/slider-page/So my 500 x 300 picture is not uploaded, even though I select ‘Full Size 500×300’. Plus the display is not automatically changed to the 150×150, like it should be.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Changing Subdirectory – Maintain LinksI followed the instructions for moving the WordPress files in my subdirectory to my main directory. It worked. Most of the pictures carried. A few had errors. When I clicked on those with errors, the media library came up with the missing picture selected. I clicked saved.
The entire process worked quickly and my site is close to going live.
I was wishing there was an easy way to work on all of this in a sandbox. Then move everything to the active directory and go live, keeping all the links and media working. If there is, I have not found it.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Changing Subdirectory – Maintain LinksIn reading through it, it says:
‘Existing image/media links uploaded media will refer to the old folder and must be updated with the new location. You can do this with the Velvet Blues Update URLs or Better Search Replace plugins, WP-CLI’s search-replace if your hosting provider (or you) have installed WP-CLI, manually in your SQL database, or by using the 3rd party database updating tool Search and Replace Databases Script * Note: this script is best used by experienced developers.’
This means every photo in each page will be messed up. This is exactly what I would like to avoid. The ‘fix’ described is beyond my capabilities, I think.
What I am doing is converting an existing HTML website to WordPress. In order to keep the current website up while I am doing this, I need to have WordPress in a separate subdirectory (I think). It looks like I will mess up a lot of my work when I transfer and go live.
So before I spend more hours and hours converting from HTML to WordPress, then have to fix my photos on every page,
is there some other way I should be doing this?
