In reply to: Help with permalinks or links in generalYes you can do it manually. However I can help you only by giving steps for the manual steps.
The steps are:-
1) Login to your WP admin panel.
2) In the left sidebar, click on Settings tab and then on Permanent Links.
3) In the Custom url space, just add %month% where ever you want.

In reply to: editing a published postYes we can edit a post after it has been published. You can follow the following steps to edit a post and add whatever you want.
1) Login to your WP admin panel.
2) In the left sidebar, click on POSTS tab.
Now you will be in Edit Posts page. Select your post and just click the edit link which will appear under the name of your post. Make changes and just click UPDATE!

In reply to: Remove "SELECT A CATEGORY" from pageYou can remove the following link “SELECT A CATEGORY’ from header.php file. Just find the “SELECT A CATEGORY’ in the header.php file and then try to remove it.
(NOTE: create a backup of header.php file before attempting to edit the codes)

Find the following code either manually or by pressing CTRL + F in your keyboard.
The code you have to find is
<?php wp_list_categories('title_li=&orderby=id'); ?>
and add the following code next to the above code.
<?php wp_list_pages('title_li='); ?>
This will display the all the pages along with the category in the nav bar.

In reply to: Footer won't Display Links in 2nd column of footer.use the following code to add links. this may solve your problem. You can use this code directly from Widgets page by using the text widget or by editing the Footer.php file from the Appearance >> editor page.
<a href="Enter the url of anything here">Enter the title which will be shown instead of the complete url.
