I have tried 1.3.0 with the fix and the Icon is appearing.

an odd one then as SVG is most definitely supported in webkit. I use it the while time. Had a look but couldn’t see anything untoward.
A quick google has Chris Coyier of CSS Tricks saying probably don’t Base 64 Encode SVG

I am using Google Chrome 48 on Windows 7 (64bit)
I have tested this with Firefox and IE and all is fine.
I have also tested this with another computer with Windows 7 (32bit) and Chrome and the icon still doesn’t appear.

I have tried this but pre_get_posts doesn’t work on is_front_page. (See note in the codex)

I tried it anyway but pre_get_posts doesn’t work and returns the following PHP notice
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in .... wp-includes/query.php on line 4373 (also 4375 & 4377)

Any suggested workarounds?

The problem is now resolved. For others who may have a similar problem, in the end my host had to reset all permissions AND file ownership, although they appeared set correctly. This sorted the problem. #ghostinthemachine

a third recommendation for this simple addition.
I agree with swinggraphics that this is NOT just for use in conjunction with another plugin. Any post type that supports ‘page attributes’ and a custom page order would benefit from this simple addition to the plugin.

A quick update, it seems the 4.0.3 zip file is missing.

When I look on the developers page here
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/developers/ the SVN repository is there but the zip file gives a 404.

I have had exactly the same problem. I have tried fixing it by downloading from WordPress Plugins directly and updating via FTP but noticed that that version is also marked 4.0.2 in the acf.php file.

Not to worry I have done a little digging and found that using the following code worked

I second what Roseberry said go into Settings -> General settings and if there is a colon ‘:’ in the end of the Site URL eg: https://www.mysite.com/wordpress: then remove it.

Seems to have worked for quite a few people
