thanks for reply I will have a look, the problem with visitors dropping started at start of 2024 at that point I wasn’t using Yoast,

All sorted, now apart from a few posts. It was a malicious code within a theme ( Viral News) that triggered the problem, webhost sorted it within minutes.

I’ve been able to get the posts lost from cached versions on google. got them all apart from one post not sure how to get that back, anyone does know do let me know

Thanks George for your advice, I’m waiting for Webhost to help with back up as I’m not the best at using back ups to restore, fingers crossed. Another option is starting again as you and whilst uploading new stuff, in the background maybe using the google option to go back to old posts copy and pasting, I know take me forever I won’t upload them all, but at last resort i’m willing to post those or a selection of the old posts

can’t remember when the recent wordpress update was that was the last change Im on the most up todate version. ironically Im back in the site now, but it seems to happen every so often I know it could happen again just wanted to be prepared next time,

That was the first time it went double when I first reported it, it seems to come and go, it went ok and today it’s back to double

unfortunately the problem has returned, this time I tried with some default themes that come with wordpress they all give the double dashboard

everything seems to be fine now, Ive been running the same theme for about 3 years never had a problems I do keep everything updated, the problem came just after the last jetpack update, everything is good now

Just checked the plugins, it seems it’s Jetpack thats causing the problem anyone able to advice what to do ?

I found out it was the new theme I bought that was causing me the 404 errors, author is refusing to accept this, reverted back to old theme working fine now

just tried again, failed to update to version 6.8

Ive finally gotten version 6.7, the problem was jetpack causing 404 errors, at the moment the site been in maintenance mode for nearly 5 minutes trying to update to 6.8

Hi found out from Webhost who was looking into 404 errors I was getting it was jetpack was causing 404 errors on my site, should I wait until jetpack is not in beta?

I’m not familar to ftp side of things and I don’t want to delete anything im not sure off,
